Detailed description

Hello ppl,

this is my remake of Aerowalk for Sauerbraten. The map is not yet finished, so if you want to help feel free to modify the map and send it to me, so I can update the package. I would love to see the successful Quake map in Sauerbraten.

Stuff that need to be fixed:

- lights (just basic light so you can play the map)
- textures (just basic textures)
- item arrangement
- embellishments

Let's see if we can get this up as a community project.

Nice, but you want it exactly like the original map? in details and layout? i would like to contribute with some minimal modifications to the layout (that not affect the original layout but improve the flow) and also with the details (But i dont know if you want the same details, i can look at the original map in quakelive, so i dont have problem)

no the map must not exactly match the original. The game itself is not the same, so if you want you can add some extras and we can discuss them in the community :)
I know i am not the best man to make a map, I just started and i would be happy to have this map in the game to be a very good duel map :)

I don't want to discourage you, but Quake 3 has a different flow and gameplay than Sauerbraten (other physics like strafejumping, lower jumpheight, slower running speed, but also different item-system, other weapon variety and behavior, more sounds etc). Because of this; trying to make the map look exactly like it's original often ends up in a duel map which feels too cramped (especially with such closed layout). So often the dimensions in the layout of remakes are scaled up in Sauerbraten.
Although that should be kept in mind, I still wish you the best with doing so and I hope it turns out in something great.

Yes, thats true, thats why i asked if he wanted it like the original or with modifications, there are some areas that can be improved concerning to the flow, thanks.

How about QRMMC - Quake Remake Map Merging Contest then? Take 2-3 maps and fuse them together. There's your creativity.

That vid shows off an incorrect look and feel of the map by the way; as the textures has been reduced.
