So, this may not be the best place to post this, and maybe I should just see what happens and not post anything at all. Anyway, I'm surprised by Quad's sudden shutdown/move/rebirth at a new location. As far as I can tell, Quadropolis is working again, (Obviously, I have been able to log in)but it is entirely possible that this forum post will not actually post or whatever.

Does anyone know who hosts 4-cube because Quad apparently had problems with GoDaddy, but as far as I know that was with some specific aspect of the site rather than GoDaddy. All my information at this point is just coming from the post on 4-Cube about the move.

Well, this is a forum topic now, so if anyone knows anything more about this than me, I guess I'll defer to what you have to say. To me, just a general Quad user, this development was sudden and completely unexpected.

EDIT:
I probably should have looked at the Cube Engine Forums first also, as there is already a discussion ongoing there.

I've found what is either a bug caused by the move or a weird problem on my end: "Best Content" and the other "Best" tabs bring up no results. Best MODs goes to the Server movement notice page. I hope reporting this somehow helps. Is there a better place to report bugs to? (Cube2 Forums? IRC?)

well i tried to upload it. so many bloody rules to follow and so much shit to read, i don't think i'll ever upload to quadropolis. better stick to my friendly neighborhood clan forums, much less rules about packaging and whatnot there

The rules are there to provide a level of QA for the community. We don't want junk content being posted on this site. However we are working on making the submission process more user friendly so your input is valuable if you feel like giving some more details on what turned you off.

The only thing you actually have to do is make up a title, put down a description, add a screenshot and upload some zip-file which is packaged often as packages/base/name_of_map.ogz. The rest is just optional and useful for people which comment on your node (as in how many players should actually play on the map)
It can hardly be made easier to still serve it's purpose. If you still got any input to this subject, the moderation and admin team would love to hear.

I think the layout can be a bit intimidating. Maybe we can add some jquery to enable/disable/show/hide some of the fields automatically.

ah hang on, i see what happened, i didn't package it the right way, it was just a zip file with the map, no packages or base folder. okay then, is it necessary to configure it so the map shows the picture when you load it up? or is that optional?

That is also optional, but gets preferred. It is a must when it is targeted as a map for a new release of Sauerbraten or other games (well at least for Sauerbraten).

Not necessary, but it would be best. In case the map is chosen to be included in the new release, someone else can always take a picture of it without your consent :P
