Hi Maddog1906,

please use these buttons right to the executable/gamedir text controls, which opens a file/dir selection dialog. Select your binary/gamedir and it should work then.
I'm going to change the underlying wxWidgets control in the next release.

The dependencies listed on the-conquerors.net forum are not correct for Ubuntu. They should be libwxbase2.8-0 & libwxgtk2.8-0.
I built a deb package for Ubuntu for my LiveDVD, Kwadrix: Gamers Edition, so I figured I'd share it. This is the 32bit version only.

Though I only installed it to test, I've uninstalled it because I'll never use it, to be honest.

I think it (it being the program) would be a little better if, upon clicking on a master server/game, it automatically updated from that master, rather than not showing any servers until you updated manually.

Also, you (you being WahnFred) might want to look into spacing of objects in that dialog with a list of things on the left and things that change on the right depending on the thing on the left (a preferences dialog? I don't remember...), because when I picked a different thing from the list on the left, a few things moved around and covered other things up.
I'd tell you what it was exactly, but I've already uninstalled it and deleted the deb.

Oh, and this is Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty), if it matters.

I did not add auto-update yet, since updating from the master can take some time, depending on your connection and the load on the master server. So pressing F5 to update from the master shouldn't be a problem, but I'm going to add an option for auto-updating.

Thank you for making a .deb package - since I'm using a rpm based distro, i have no clue in making .debs. I'm going to build it on the openSUSE Buildservice, which builds Ubuntu packages too.
Of course, the libwxgtk2 package is also needed, since the base part of wxWidgets is for console apps only.
The source gets released later this day, stay tuned :)

No, you shouldn't. Sourceforge uses mirrors to speed downloads for users and to decrease the load on any one server. Bypassing the mirror chooser isn't a good idea.

This is an amazing creation you get a 5/5 stars from me but i got some ideas that i think you might be able to implement.

One is that when u have access to the extended server info and you can view all the player it would be cool if the player you click on could have a small page about them like a picture of their player (avatar) then you might be able to converse with the other creators of Cube, Sauerbraten, AC, and BloodFrontier, and see if it would be possible to have a username that would carry over from each platform of the CubeEngine Game, it would also be cool to have a system devised that would calculate your ranking among all of the other players, also if you could have a total Number of Games join/played, also number of frags and deaths total, like of all the games.

I understand that this would be a major task to undertake, but i believe that it would be one of the Greatest things to do to the CubeEngine based game, I myself would be willing to help in any way I can.

It will find itself very useful. Wish XFire's got that feature :( but this tool will help me fins servers without even entering Sauer to find servers. Anyway, good job and keep it updated ;)

nomen est omen ... it extends the regular behaviour of sauerbraten servers ... a modified binary (no source I found to compile from) is required. Maybe in some future release sauerbraten will do this too - I'd say we can consider this a field-beta ;)

I downloaded the server patch for windows, but then when I play sauerbraten, it says my server is an older protocol!

The patch/binary which is available on Sourceforge was for the summer edition of Sauerbraten. The extended info is now integrated in the Sauerbraten and AssaultCube devel branch, so with the upcoming release of these games and CSL, each server has this feature.

CSL fails to launch game for me. both sauer and BF. these 2 error messages:

Mislukt om te starten:C:\Program\ Files\(x86)\Sauerbraten\bin\sauerbraten.exe -q"C:\Program Files(x86)\Sauerbraten -x"connect "

and one that is really similar about cannot find file. somehow it fx*cks the file location to sauerbraten.exe up, altough i did enter it correctly in the settings.. any help?

Unfortunately this is a known bug in the windows version which is fixed for the next release. A workaround is to move the games to a folder which doesn't contain spaces.

The easiest workaround for this is to use the relative path "../Sauerbraten/sauerbraten.bat" to find the executable.
(which has to be done at first installation time, as windows CSL won't actually let you modify these settings, and doesn't delete them when uninstalled)

... 2 BIG problems. First: It will only show five or six CTF EDITION servers when I update from master and there's no way to change it to show all server versions.
Second: I get "illegal server message: type" errors when trying to connect, possibly because the listed servers are CTF EDITION, not Trooper Edition.

I also have some issue related this software, on MAC it does not save preferences, so it can't store where sauer binary is. And consequently lot of functions does not work. A nice tool hoverer.

for linux users: current version is here http://sourceforge.net/projects/cubelister/develop, but you need to compile that yourself, i found a nice instruction how to do it: http://en.pastebin.ca/1758793 (bf beta 2 servers are listed well too)
