Perhaps you can't remember how you got involved in this community of mappers, scripters, coders and artists from skyboxes, models and textures, but I still would like to ask; How did you actually get in touch with Quadropolis?

Perhaps we (admins, moderators but you as user well) could work to reach other people as well and gain in size as community. After all, Quadropolis exists not only to provide feedback to each other or as file archive, but as a place where people gain creativity and inspiration as well.

Feel free to leave a note why you actually joined Quadropolis and a link to your very first node.

I chose the first option. Once I found out that Sauerbraten had a map editor, I wanted to see other peoples work so I Googled for a while and pretty much every link was leading to this site. I only got my account activated a year later though, because I didn't know what IRC was at that time. :)

If someone new who is waiting for their account to be activated is reading this, you really need to get on the #sauerbraten IRC channel and ask. I say this because a couple of years ago, that was me, and especially with the "get in touch" in the title, people might find this searching. Just go HERE if you don't want to download an IRC program.

Anyway, I found Quadropolis through the sauerbraten.org link, but my application was in limbo for months until I asked Suicizer about it on a different site dedicated to mapping contests. (I don't think the site has been used for a year and a half now :/) I've been glad to see the community become more active since I joined, because it seemed to have been on a downward slope when I first found it.

The first map I posted here was terribly misguided, and I hope I've gotten better since then.

I can't remember exactly how i found out about quad, but i do remember that I wanted to post a REALLY bad map that i thought was the best thing ever, like, 4 years ago or something. I had my account because of that, and back then i don't think you needed to go on IRC to activate or anything (I didn't, at least. Maybe I'm magic). More recently, when Collect came out, I decided I wanted to take making maps more seriously, so I logged back in to quad. Ended up asking on IRC to have my account name changed though, as the one I had from when i was younger really sucked.

I have trouble myself as well to remember how I got here. I'm quite sure I've been editing about a year before actually registered back then. At first, nothing was notified that some admin will activate my account, so I asked a friend to do it for me (KillThemAll). 1 of the reasons how I got here was the cockiness of me and other newcomers on Sauerbraten which said that the map should be in the release and Quadropolis is the gate towards that (which still commonly is). Obviously, it never reached the official release of Sauerbraten ;).

Scedm ( > 2000 nodes back in the past 0.0) was my first map as far as my memory exceeds. Does it look good or am I proud of it? Nah, but it's history after all.

I used to check quadropolis from years before getting an account.. who was that pointed me to do so? mmh.. maybe some mX.. Misan or Badsock at the time I've joined..

As it seems like the link on sauerbraten.org is pretty useful, perhaps we should ask to promote it on the main page of Red Eclipse, Tesseract, Revelade Revolution and maybe even Assault Cube also (if they aren't already).
