Seems like the models have become looking great ^^!
Content
Don't just dump your models into the models folder. This has been done too much already and makes the directory even more cluttered as it already is. Just put them in the mapmodels folder, where they belong.
What about adding a different folder for trees and ferns (since when are ferns belonging to a tree family?)?
The same counts for the grass-texture; what about putting it into a folder called grass? There are plenty of grass-textures just dumped into the textures folder, which isn't making it more clear as it is now.
being a big fan of skyrim and a bigger fan of vurts skyrim flora overhaul I decided to convert them for use in sauerbraten and here it is :D
So where is the actual license of the models? There should be one anyway, as you've notified the models carry various licenses (which aren't included).
Also some link to that person's website would be a great asset.
Theme
It seems like the models are best for use in some kind of swampy junglish themed map. Would be pretty original to make such theme (only river_c gets close to that).
Texturing
You could still assign some bumpmapped-textures to stuff like the barks of trees.
Geometry
The models seem to be pretty light-weight.
Lighting
The ambient seems to be fine also.
Detailing
Even they models look pretty detailed, I'm sure they could be animated a little, so they wave a bit with the wind (as the grass is moving, while ferns should also be moving if you would compare them with the grass).
I noticed that some of the barks have small alpha-channeled spots, which makes you able to look through a tree. What about using objalphatest
and objalphablend
instead of mdlalphatest
and mdlalphablend
?
Clipping/Noclipping
Some trees have a pretty big boundingbox compared to their mesh. What about putting it a little more tight to the bark of the tree?
Overall
It definitely aren't bad looking models, but they still have some small mistakes. Especially the licensing problem makes them useless.
Also, when you echo that people should put on grassheight 4
and grassstep 0.5
, be sure to tell the defaults of those commands also.
P.S.
At least 12 of 13 people haven't noticed the licensing issues or have just ignored it. That's pretty sad actually. It could be me, but somehow only 10 users are being showed up on the voting list, while the content stated there are 11 votes?
