I could use some help downloading the development version or Sauer

I am unsure of how to download the SVN Development version of Sauerbraten. I read an old node (http://quadropolis.us/node/2878) but I couldn't figure out much of what anyone said meant. What I know is that:
-I apparently need some sort of compiler program to gather all the new files.
-...and I don't know much else.
Also, I am confused by the post related to the development version on the front page.

is a different link from the
"you can find the project here on SourceForge."
That link is http://sourceforge.net/projects/sauerbraten/

Apparently the written-out link is the Development files, and the "here" link is for the Justice edition download (I downloaded it to check, and it at least seemed to be identical to the justice edition I already have, while the Packages/base list in the written out link has Kopenhagen, which is in the latest SVN release (according to its node here on Quad))

Bottom line, I have no idea what I'm doing, so maybe I shouldn't be trying to mess with the Development version, But if anyone could direct me to some sort of SVN walk-through, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Seems like they took the wrong way around. It will be easier for him to follow the Quick Check-out which only needs a folder name and the URL for the download. It's that simply in SmartSVN, and you get some cool stuff you won't find in tortoiseSVN

I tried the detailed method in the link as well as the quick check-out, but i always get the error message:

"none of the project root directories seem to be under Subversion control. What do you want to do?"

I'll try searching for a fix for this (tomorrow), but does anyone have any thoughts about why this wouldn't work?

EDIT: I should add that it also says in the error message:
Details: svn: E155007: 'C:\Program Files(x86)\SauerbratenSVN' is not a working copy

"SauerbratenSVN" is the name of the folder I am trying to download the files into

Maybe smartSVN is having trouble writing to Program Files due to permissions or something? Or maybe your download was incomplete?

The error you provided, i only get it when i'm trying to migrate projects, so it's weird that you're getting it just like that. Perhaps try downloading to a folder on your desktop, see if it changes anything?

Putting it in to a folder on the desktop seems to work.
(though I have no clue why it would make a difference. Shows how much I know about this kind of stuff)
