Case of the missing quote...

I've been noticing much of my responses are completely eliminated without rhyme or reason. I understand it is the job of the admins and moderators to uphold posters to a somewhat professional standard or etiquette. However, I find it offensive when accurate, direct, though slightly rude comments are removed. If my memory serves me, is there not a legend of a man (complete with bad grammar, and nasty spelling) who creates entire posts on why a map sucks, and my comments, which are much more upstanding and tame, are erased from memory... It strikes odd.

Constructive posting is acceptable, trolling/flamebaiting isn't. Even if that isn't your intent, it is the effect it produces that matters.

(For the record, I deleted one comment (and through that its two responses, one yours, one Chasester's, I believe). I am not aware of any other comments of yours being deleted, and this version of Drupal apparently does not have very informative logging.)

I think you deleted my comment :P. No problem at all this time, it was just saying that "shakespeare" shouldnt wake up another flamewar...

When those comments are saying a map sucks, but also "what", "why" and "how to fix" (so its pretty constructive), then why should you add an "accurate" and "direct" reply on that comment?

Moderators are by no means required to explain their reasons, the difference between real life and the internet is that the internet is not a democracy, you are a guest, and are subject to the house rules. Chase walks a razor-thin line with his responses, but in the end the redeeming quality for them is that they are in fact constructive criticism, not outright trolling.

For the record, I would have deleted your posts too. I fully stand by the decisions of the moderators I have appointed.

anyways, i agree that if something seems like trolling or advertising products or whatever, then it might be removed. be constructive through your comments and you shouldnt have anything to worry about :D
