The version of the map reviewed by me was added to Blood Frontier's SVN with a rocket in the center where the rifle is in this version. As rockets are SVN-only at this point, I don't expect new maps to have them; I usually review item placement/clipping/lighting/etc anyway.

More like revived and remixed, most of the submissions in the contest were overcomplicated, or simply not in the spirit of fast ego-shooter action. I fished the old rocket out of our SVN history and modified the gameplay for it to be more like the grenades (limited use, distributed).

I guess that makes sense. I just sort of liked the fact that BF did not have a rocket launcher. For me, the flame-thrower works better, at least to my playing style. In Saur, I tend to accidentally blow myself up with the rocket launcher. lol :D

On the other hand, I know of people who were turned away from the game because of the fact that BF didn't have a rocket launcher.

Bummer the contest was sort of a dud though.

the rocket-launcher is a oneway-weapon.

you pick it up, you shot once, it destructs anything within 3-5 meters and then you throw away the pipe.

it respawns after about 30 secondes, but im not sure about that.

At this time it is currently: rocketfrequency*itemspawndelay = 3*15000 = 45 seconds.

The grenades were also tweaked in this fashion: grenadefrequency*itemspawndelay = 2*15000 = 30 seconds.

Other items may spawn sooner than their specified delay, should there be a shortage of weapons for the number of players in the level.
