Once again I have to say it I am afraid. Cannot be included in the official package.
Two major issues: It is far too dark (though the lighning is nice), and it´s wqd count is way too high.
The layout itself is okay, though those long and one dimensional corridors are a problem. With no cover at all it will be extremly easy to defend the flag there. Also, that chasm is is a problem, because there´s about no (quick) way out. Those jumppad colums also cause confusion, because it´s weird to have arrows in both directions, but a jumppad that will no get you there.
The flags being in sight of each other is a slight proplem too.
If that map was 1/3rd of it´s size, and had more diverse ways in
getting to the flags (including chances to take cover here and there in those corridors), plus a little more light it would be fine.
For anyone wanting to make a ctf map for pcube:
Please assure that wqd-count is about 3500 average, may (and can´t be avoided to) occasionally peak at about 5500 (6000 being an absolute max) but try to stay within that. You can make large maps even within these boundarys by carefull occluder-placement.
I also advise to test or have the map tested carefully, for item placement is crucial for the balance and gameplay of a ctf-map.
I don´t want to sound like an asshole here, let me explain why being so ridget: Pro Cube is meant to attract those serious gamers who want
competition on a professional level. For these players, performance of the game and map design is far more important than the looks or originality. Some players like to play with very high framerates, or stable vsynced frames for smoothest perception of even marginal movement on the screen. Cube performs good in general, but will drop in performance exponentially when not enough occluders are present.
Occasional or jff players won´t mind playing at 50fps or less, but on a "pro" level (sorry,I hate that word myself) 50 or 200 fps can be a deciding factor. Smooth framerates are very important for low-sensitivity players aswell. Even if your map runs "fine" on your high end computer,
it might be rejected by players that have even "only" a mid-budget system.
P.S: Don´t believe those "my tv has 28 frames too, 30 frames is smooth, the eye can´t see more than 60fps anyways"-arguments. It´s bs, and every hardcore gamer will agree ;)
