Detailed description

I'm getting rid of the readme text in this post here since its kinda just taking up space. If you want to read it anyway, check the included version or the link below.

in 1.6, I added some courts on the outside. Enjoy.

For those who don't know what sauertennis is: you play tennis with grenades. It's as easy as it gets :)
Again, for detailed rules and info, check the link.

Also I am happy to announce another tennis tournament! It will take place on Sunday, September 12th, 8PM UTC+1 (german time; usual PSL capture time).
If you want to take part, drop a mail at hero AT sauerworld DOT org, catch me in IRC or use the guesbook on that fancy page. :)

YAY! No more useless tree models around the edges of the court. That will make the fps go WAY up.

...imo, this map would look way better with some trees or other stuff around it. If it slows your computer down, you still could remove them in "your" version, as long as it doesn't affect gameplay in multiplayer ;)

Hehe, i did the same once with the "metl4"-map, in my version here i just removed the water completely, the frames then went up and i didn't have to switch waterreflection and -refraction off anymore. Of course this won't work on maps like ph-capture and other maps where you can swim to reach certain places, but look at maps like "complex" or "killfactory", the water there is kinda outside the playable areas. Hehe, you even could remove complete parts of maps if you have some difficulties with your PC's performance there ;)

Just a thought ;)

This is better than the map tennis it had a bunch of useless tree mapmodels and it had a weird building that had even more weirder crap in it

Okay, thanks. I learned very much with the help of the two comments made on the tennis release node, this was my bad there :D

But I think this map looks much better than the original tennis map.

I uploaded a new package which includes an update to version 1.1. A list of the changes has been added to the text above and the readme.

Please don't stop to comment this work xD

EDIT: Now the final 1.1 with one more texture.

Uh... it's not the 2nd map, but the 4th tennis map :P
I actually made 2 maps before, but back then it was pretty conceptual... and there was no lava xD

I am happy though that someone continued the tennis legacy in Sauerbraten :D
The map is pretty cool btw, but clip the ring part a little higher so that they don't have the chance to escape the court... instead they fall to the lava :P

Ahh... I think it's better to search for the same topics before releasing something. I never had heard about your maps (and you are right, they are conceptual).

the ring part is exactly what it has to be. It doesn't allow you to stay on the small place between the lava and the fence, and it's not so big so that you can easily jump over to go onto the court itself. Leaving the court during a match by accident is a foul :)

I really like your idea of a tennis map with your own rules for a different gameplay. Also, the .jpg pics bring a unique feel to this map. ;)

On the other hand, the whole map is just a square, texturing is very empty, lighting in some few parts is ok, other parts are just overbright, and some of the lighttextures don't have any lightsources at all.

Why did you use so much clip there ?

All in all i can say, it's a fun map with good rules for this kind of "gamemode", well overthought and you've put some work into this map, even when it doesn't look really interesting.

All these facts make it difficult for me to give you a higher rating for this map, even if i like it, that's why i rate it

2/5 atm ;)
