Solids must be used to occlude stuff. The cube engine uses simple and brute occlusion, wich must be understood and dealt with while mapping.
This map runs at unbearable 20-30 fps on a amd64 3000/gf7600GT. My old p3-800mhz/gf2 (the box I made Ac on) runs the official maps on solid 100fps. What´s wrong with this picture?

I try to explain it simply:
Open AC, press E.
Fly above ac_complex. Fly along the paths. Now you see what solids do. Solids help the engine run faster.
Look at the wqd number. It stays low (1500-4000)
High wqd :bad Low wqd :good - solids help to keep it low.
sorry makke but i have a question for my next map: do you know if it's possible to have rain script on AC? i know how to makke one, but for cs maps... if it's possible how can i make one? thx for answer
There is no rain in AC.
I don't suppose there are plans in the works for weather effects... It wouldn't be that hard to implement, really. It might even be possible to tweak the code creating the caustics... EDIT: I'm talking about in Sauer, but a bit of porting might be possible.
in cs that's not difficult to make rain effect, with scripts, but why it's not possible to do rain script? it's too dificult to do one on cube engine? thank for the last answer ;)
