The "some other idiot" only rated these four maps, and rated them all five. I, as admin, can see who rates what - so it's obviously an alt. I'm still deciding on whether I should "out" Megalodon's alt name.
The problem is that I've never come to a coherent decision as to what to do in cases of borderline abuse like this.
To be clear:
Megalodon
1) submitted 4 very poor maps to the site... but I never wanted a policy of removing bad maps... and he considers them finished, not WIP.
2) used a prior-registered alt to rate up the four maps to 5*. Never had a policy on rating your own stuff either, or using alts... and since ratings have always been "whatever you feel" the question of the legitimacy of rating it all 5* is equally dubious.
If he had been less conspicuous, he could've gotten away with it - the AC cube is small enough that nobody would've noticed that, in a listing of top-ranked AC maps there were a few stinkers.
None of this is technically abuse - but at the same time, it feels pretty damned wrong.
