Detailed description

Now as the horizon sets on 2006, the demand for Multiplayer maps on the hit free game, sauerbraten has never been greater. Now as the year comes to an end, the Alpha Corporation, that specialises in Singleplayer maps has broken away and made a multiplayer map. Egyptian singleplayer 1: An evening in the arena is the first, of hopefully many of the upcoming maps from Alpha corporation. This multiplayers ultimate aim, is to surcure a section in the next realease of Sauerbraten, which is considered a great honour. However for this to happen, this multplayer must be of exception standards that are overranking of previous map entities onto the sites. So test and vote on this map to see if it meets up to the high cirteria. Suitable for 1-8 players.

Well, I've downloaded your map here. I think you have a lot of talent, you have great potential. But you miss little details and why god why do you keep using the egyptian theme? (Personally I'm totally bored with that theme). The layout is nice, so would seem to be the gameplay. But looks more to me like a Cube map than Sauer's. Everything is too squareish, simple for a say, I think you're not using the full potential of the engine and you could since you do have talent. Personal comment.

Also, watch out the trim textures in those bridges, you might wanna rotate them in some of them.

In the red marked zone you should simply rotate the texture, this can be done in the map's cfg by adding the same texture and putting "1" after it.

Look, Meatloaf...
What I meant by making it lighter was that your map shouldn't have those shadows. The ruin the gameplay and hide things. A bold, bright and detailed map shall win the most high votes. You should try to make a map that
1: has no shadows...
2: uses a different theme...
3: had over twice the detail in which all your maps have...
4: is totally LIGHTED with no dark spots!
You have all the ideas but not the methods to load them into sauerbraten. What you need to do is to just make a small test map. Put in your great ideas, textures and think of some cool stradegy methods in the map that players can use. The Atmoshpere is really ruined in your map becuase of the dull texture repeats that occur so often. Its a cool map and all but needs alot more work.
I like the spikes and the holes in the roof. The pic is good but has been taken from the wrong angle. Good work! try to make the story line fit into the map.

PS: Alpha Corporation!? what the heck is that?? I thought he was some sort of agent?
Some time we have to join forces in coop edit mode and make a map pack that even beats "An army of one!!"

Maybe you need to adjust your gamma? This map is lit just fine. It could use more details, and the texturing needs an overhaul, but there's nothing wrong with his lighting.

No shadows is a good thing? You try living life with a fully lit space under your bed and so on!

And yeah, try setting gamma to 175 or something.

Well, I dont think I expressed what I meant properly. Maybe you should just change the gamma but I really hate maps without good detail! You should put in small lights on the pillars and in the halls. Make them different colours to create a "feel" for that particular place. Eg. try putting a blue light where the teleporter is.
I think that dimm lights would work in your map a bit better but I guess your just trying to make the map have an ancient egytian feeling...

Actually a good mapper toys with the shadows to make interesting effects and ambients, totally lit maps is just boring and dull. The detail is another subject, this map could use some more detailing.

K im taking Ratboys and Cube MAsters advice, and im begining work on a different map setting. Im working on an ice singleplayer called frost. Look out for it in the following weeks!
Also: My maps have very little detail it them. I think tat the next one will have more. A lot more.
