Yes, it's developed by the same guy (Hirato). Many menus and gameplay functions can be found already in the RPG module of PAS.
It's much more advanced then PAS :)

Wait, what happened to Octaforge? q66 posted something pretty recently and he's been making updates for it. Lamiae looks like it's further along in terms of having usable scripts but I think Octaforge sounds a little more powerful in terms of what you can do with scripting. Are these two projects going to compete with each other for which gets to be a game dev platform?

So far it doesn't seem you can do much with Octaforge, but it may be an interesting option in the future.
They are not going to compete to be a game dev platform, rather be 2 options to chose from.
