Detailed description

Beware, this also affects vweps (third person weapons). This does not affect hands. This doesn't work with Captain Cannon.

Pistol is white, chainsaw is yellow.

To me, it's not working at all. This is probably a packaging issue as there isn't any hudgun specified for red or blue and there is no packages/models/ folder included.

It's a pretty nice thought, but what about a black outline as contrast?

you could also change the hudguns folder to something like "hudguns_trans" and then use the hudgunsdir command so you dont have to overwrite

You should never overwrite any files, but rather use the personal folder (like that of the My Games directory).

When you follow the quadropolis packing guide that Suicizer likes to link to, you can just drop the whole download zip in the sauer home directory (the one which also holds your autoexec.cfg and your config.cfg) and do not need to unpack it.
Then go ingame and use /addzip TheFileYouJustDownloaded.zip

The game will act as if the content of the zipfile had overwritten the original files.

When you get sick of the content, you can just /removezip TheFileYouJustDownloaded.zip and you have the old files back.

I did not experiment much with it, though. I am not sure if you just need to use it once or every time you start the game. But to go sure, you can just drop it into the autoexec.cfg :P
I am also not sure how it reacts on pre-loaded models, like the hudguns. Just try it!

They look nice(, but a Little bit desorienting). can i only use the hudguns, or do i Need to also paste the vweps?

Do you think, it would be possible to make transparent hands also?

Could you color the guns according to the icons (grey pistol, white chainsaw, red shells, orange rockets, green bullets, cyan grenades, blue riflerounds)? Cannot tell from your description or the screen ...

10/10 for getting this idea going!

Edit: I second Suicizers idea about a black outline, or wait: a solid outline, but in the same color as the model.

I actually meant it should be solid; thanks for saying it more clear.
Another suggestion; what about adding envmaps towards the transparent surfaces of the hudguns? That would make it more like glass.

The HUD is the good, old SauerEnhanced HUD by Q009; ported it to collect edtion for my editing client project. It's still under development and at alpha state, but - if you like to bleed - try running with scissors here: https://github.com/fanaticclan/client.
