Detailed description

This is one of the first playable maps i've made - A tiny CTF map with one team starting on elevated platforms, and another team starting in bunkers. There is an obstruction in the middle of the map that both teams must move through to get the the other teams flag, along with a sparing amount of ammo.

Not too sure about the lighting yet - maybe a bit too dark :/

(i apologise if my map is packed wrongly :D )

EDIT: repacked the map using the correct folder names, got rid of the extra directory (i think) resized the screenshot (will take a new one when I have time)

It should be packages/base/[your map]
Also your Mac is creating extra folders during ZIP, Please read this node for packaging.

Okay about the map.
It's not great, but it's not bad either. Pretty flat, I count 6 textures used, and it's pretty open.
If you're going for CTF, I'd advise you to make both bases symmetrical so no team has a clear advantage over the other (like on Hallo). Maybe take a look at some in-game maps to get a feel for it.

Thanks for your feedback - I was unsure whether to make the map symmetrical or not - I know for next time :)

It doesn't have to be symmetrical, but it guarantees that there are no unfair advantages for either side. Bonus points if you can make each side different aesthetically (pipery, cover, lighting, vegetation etc), and even more bonus points for you if you make an asymmetrical ctf map that is not unbalanced :)

The screenshot could be bigger than 256x256 on Quadropolis (but with a maximum of 640x480). You can't see anything on it right now.

A nice first map. I love the spotlights. ^.^

I noticed there is a barrel entity near the center of the map-- sadly, those only work in singleplayer. If you only want it for looks, you can just use a mapmodel.

Packaging is still a little off. Lots of encryption warnings when trying to unzip, and lots of ".DS_Store" files.

are .DS_Store files generated by a mac or pc? (I zip on mac, transfer to pc to remove the extra mac files, then transfer back to mac). Works quite well because I'm running a virtual machine :)
