I have to admit, for a newcomer the layout isn't bad.
The packaging still could use some improvements, please read the Packaging Guide (contains files like .DS_Store, uses uppercase symbols within the .ogz-files, etc).
Ever tried commands like sunlight
? They can be quite helpful when lighting terrain. A command reference for all such lighting commands can be found over here.
The base called evil spawn currently supplies cartridges used for the pistol, as players already spawn with that. Perhaps you should take some other weapon instead for that base?
The base entity isn't working like putting all it's parameters to 1 of the same number. See base in the editing-reference of http://sauerbraten.org/ for more information.
The gameplay seems to be pretty good as well for a newcomer. There still are some thing which could be improved, like for example, 1 side has a pack of bullets more than the other side.
Try not to add huge walls of clip inside the playing area. This often adds a lot of unrealism and confuses players.
I could add a lot more things to improve, but that probably wouldn't help you a lot for a first try. I'll rate it 5/10 so far.
