Okay, let’s check this out. From the picture, I see a couple of walkways that seem somewhat narrow, but it’s a more open map, so I guess I’ll see if that’s bad or not. Also, there seems to be a nicer use of height and a distinct lack of symmetry from the picture.
Packaging: you don’t need a folder “perimeter” with “packages” in it, because you can name the .zip file individually. I never unzip directly to Sauerbraten’s folder, but the extra folder would mess it up if I did. Simple mistake, you’ve usually got the general packaging correct. :P
Before looking at the map, let me say that I haven’t played much of any Halo games, much less the specific map you reference, so I can’t say much about that.
The building doorways in this map are low. I don’t mind that, but you should no-clip the frame because it frequently catches me when I try to get through the doors.
You should just clip the outer walls like on metl2 instead of letting players fall outside the map and die.
The sounds on the map are a bit too pervasive. I don’t need to constantly hear birds chirping the entire match. Also, some of the mechanical sounds are a bit loud and have a strangely quick fadeout.
I like the pipes going around some parts.
You’ve got lots of small details, can’t fault that.
Generally nice use of mapmodels, but the Russian decals seem out of place.
The lighting is rather plain, and the red lights overpower the areas they are in.
Some of the paths are narrow, like I said, but it really doesn’t matter as much because they aren’t also low and confined. They are fine in this case.
The lighter rock texture where the quad is should either be blended or just all the same color, it stands out too much.
The skybox sun doesn’t match the shadow directions, and the lens flare doesn’t really fit either. It’s like the skybox should be flipped 180 or something.
Some of the pine trees have weird shadows, but other than that the details outside the map are fine. Try putting smaller lights pointed at the trees or something so they all get illuminated.

1) Use /getsundir and /sunlight to make your sun, the days of dumb entities defining sun position are over
2) Your spotlights are useless currently, see below
3) The reason for that is that the lights they are hooked to are too small and don't reach all the way to the ground
4) Also because they are too weak to actually be visible compared to your "sun" and ambient lighting

5) You're mixing together too many textures that look bad. Some things just don't mix, take that hollow pipe for example, horrible texture choice
6) I don't understand those blue billboards of yours.
7) You're using this brick wall texture everywhere but it just doesn't fit, and your weird bends on the doorways and arches make it look ridiculous, especially the thin walls
8) Use of mapmodels for doors and roof cover is damn awful
9) The red stairs look ridiculously out of place, your ramps too. The diagonal ramp outside seemed interesting until i saw that i get stuck almost everywhere
10) Your terrain would look a bit cool if it weren't such a copy job, but alas, no points there either
11) Your spotlight lamps are way too clunky, and their texturing only makes them worse
12) Your red lights come from white sources, try using /vshaderparam "glowcolor" R G B
13) You sacrificed map detail for vehicle detail, NOT cool
14) The clipping is okay for such low-detail map, but not perfect, and not too realistic either
15) That SAM is in the right spot to blow the base up, no brainer?
16) Playerstarts inside the truck? REALLY?
17) Exit signs. In a "military base". I've no words.
18) These alert lamps are bigger than the player itself.

You get a C for effort, D for end result.

2/10. Your map is bad and you should feel bad. And no, i cannot really tell you how to make it better. It will be when i don't really have a serious thing to feel opposed to, but the quality here is generally very low.

Here's a picture to better convey my thoughts of what is wrong with your map.

ok a couple notes (this isnt an entirety of my opinion but good enough for now):

1) Your lighting still sucks i suggest going with a darker lighting schema (late day- or night).

2) Uses one brick texture as you end all be all texture is very poor (add more detail to break up the bricks) adding different clipped off levels of building rooms that you can see into but not go into, etc; work on your back map). I suggest getting rid of the brick entiely, there is no point on the map in my opinion that it looks good, maybe passable, but not good.

3) Map is entirely too small, in my opinion, it feels like you could make it bigger

4) Take your entire map (copy it with the largest grid size) then type /entfind *. Copy it, then type /newmap 12 then paste your map in the middle. This will give you more map to work with, so your map doesnt just fall off the earth.. ;p making an island in the sky is cheap and overrated, your map should have enough backmap that it doesnt feel like what you play on is it :) Think of where your map is located (world era, etc. How is it different from ours? How is it the same? What kind of people leave there (it doesnt have to fit into the sauer universe)? What is surrounding your map? What is the purpose of the playable area (Is it a base in a war [or was a base]? Is it a research facility? Factory? Is it abandoned and how long? etc -- just some things to think about, helps make details in your map more real when you have more beyond the map).

5)your tarp model is too glarey (turn down the spec - mdlspec 0.2; or something)

6) Dont be afraid to use a light that is not white 0.0 to be quite honest in real life there are really no "white" lights, most of them are a dingy yellow (incandescent) or a bright washed out blue (fluorescent). LED lights are the closest to white that exist and idt we have an led light texture 0.0 so .. just keep in mind the type of light when your are doing lighting, its really helps set the mood. If you want a warm feel uses more incandescent lighting, if you want a cool-cold use more of a fluorescent light scheme.
