They're not new weapons, just a different way to portray the Cube 2 weapons with new hudgun models.

Used Cube 2: Sauer to create the base model exported to obj, imported to Blender to create the cylinders & position certain aspects, export to Collada, then Noesis to convert to md5 format (as Blender 2.67 has no compatible md5 import/export add-ons).
I didn't make the Vweps because 4/6 of the weapons would share the same holding position (same as the default rifle) and it would be difficult to tell what your enemy is using, so it's simpler to just use the defaults.

I felt that I needed to make the FIM-92 look better (rather than just a cylinder, perhaps a plated cylinder?), and the Trak5 normal just seemed to fit, as I have no software to bake normals, but rather photoshop them together from existing normal.png images.

The packing and naming of the folders is how I wrote the md5.cfg files that the Engine reads. Also, hudgundir looks for the hudguns directory for ALL playermodels, not for one specific playermodel; (as I am currently in the process of making another hudgun set for Mr.Fixit)
Also, the "hudguns" folder must be in the Snoutx10k folder, otherwise the new hudguns won't display and will be junk data.

If you want to go the hudgundir way, you'd have to rewrite all 6 md5.cfg files.

..so you're saying you made the hudguns in the level editor?

They look really good too, though better textures would make them look a lot more polished. They'd really fit well with Assaultcube IMO.

Yeah, pretty much. Everything off-colour (for example, silver parts of the w200 & m4a1 SOPMOD) were added in with Blender. They probably would go good in Assault Cube, but my intention was to release this as a mod with Warzone CH.2 (as the newer Snoutx10k mapmodels hold these weapons)

As I cannot for the life of me figure out Blender texturing, and I cannot view the tutorial videos (slow internet :L) this is most likely the best texturing it's gonna get until I can figure it out, sorry :(.

you don't have to rewrite the whole md5.cfg of all hudguns. You only have to change the directory specifications which takes as long as writing down the comment you wrote.
also, you could easily script so that hudgunsdir only applies when snoutx10k is chosen or nubstyle; put hudgunsdir directly into the md5.cfg of other hudguns of playermodels.

Blender has export scripts for md5. Ever thought of using iqm instead? It shouldn't matter which extension is being loaded (Cube Engine 2 can even load .md2-formatted of vweps on a .md5-formatted model), so even .md3 or .md2 would do.

Blender 2.67 has no md5 compatibility yet (that I know of), or any import/export that's supported by Cube 2 other than obj, and I would've used IQM if I could make md5anim files (I'm assuming md5anim only works with md5mesh & skeletons?) & the md5anim files used are recycled. (I'm still a noob at this so bear with me here, this is the first of several hudgun mods)

Who says you should use blender 2.67? The exporters get supported till Blender 2.63 which doesn't seems like very outdated in numbers. It can be downloaded right here.

You can use actually any extension which is being supported by Cube Engine 2 (except .obj as it won't support animations, neither tagging or linking) for hudguns, as long as they aren't being defined in the same configuration-file as the hands of the playermodel (if you actually use them).

But back to the look of the hudguns;
What about adding some colour into some of them, so they can actually be recognized in a blur?

Bad internet, lack of knowledge, and laziness to learn another Blender system to the point I've learned now with 2.67, so screw waiting 4 hours for 2.63, and screw watching the screen for 4 hours to make sure that it actually downloads 100% and doesn't overload my ISP's servers.

Here's the thing with the texturing...

1.) I wanted them to look somewhat like real military firearms; lacking different colours, bland, metal-ish. At the moment, this style fits that.

2.) I haven't figured out how to actually make textures in Blender 2.67 to wrap onto the geometry and then be able to export the skin to some image format.

3.) If I just apply a texture (like the ones Geartrooper has already made for the default weapons), it doesn't wrap around the entire model, rather it stamps it across the model (as seen with the FIM-92 trak5_normal.png). So I have to make the texture stamp-able without someone noticing.
In summary it's like a plaid shirt.

If anyone feels like making the textures pretty, feel free to do so.

Update: Figured it out, Fixit's will be better.
2nd Update: I attempted to makeover the M4, and I completely botched it, so that'll remain the same. If I can get them to work correctly, the FN and the M14 will be updated.

Most modern firearms are in fact, as you stated, long and thin. If I could change the animation of the grenade, I would have created a different grenade round to shoot.

The FIM-92 Stinger missile portrayed in the mod is relative to the size of a real Stinger (although not held accurately), and most Bazookas, RPGs, etc. are in fact quite large. In fact, the smallest launcher I've seen is the WWII Panzerfaust. Plus the portrayed Stinger would have been even worse if I had chosen to put the actual sight on it.

As for the W200 shotgun, a standard 12-guage shell carries roughly 400 metal pellets. Cube 2 along with most shooter games only animate about 20 pellets (with the bullets streaks), so the logicality is greatly under-exaggerated (plus in reality you wouldn't even see the actual pellets exiting the barrel and shotguns do not use tracer rounds).

As for the muzzleflash, I cannot produce md5animations or md5tags as Blender 2.67 has no md5 compatibility (as of yet).

You can't change it's behaviour within Sauerbaten, but you could change it's shape so it's less huge for example. Maybe if you make it spin just the opposite way of which it does within Sauerbraten by using some animation, it could look way different also. Not to mention that the physics still play a role in the grenade's behaviour, so it's quite challenging...

Exactly why I didn't bother with it :P

Updated my snout hudguns with this AR-15: You're totally right: Much more usage, better aim and more fun.
I suggest to place this mod to the main node; it's a bit hidden/hard to find here inside the comments.
