Blurb its the same as a normal cube 2 game but adds the ability to change the amount of gravity

Detailed description

it allows you to change the amount of gravity in game ( only works in edit mode. )
then you can save the map with that gravity var and it will use that gravity var for other players online that are also running this version of cube.

How to use: to use it type /GRAVITY x ( yes it is case sensitive )

Bugs: seams Stable but it turns the gravity off of the ragdoll effect after some one dies

Notes: as of now i think this will only work on windows ( i have only tested it on windows 7. i think it will work on others )
what you will download is a simple installer that is packed in a .zip you'll have to extract that. then run the installer
the installer should run then place a ugly icon with a gear on your desktop. you should be able to run it from there.
this will not replace your original cube 2 you can still run either one at any time and you can uninstall this version without effecting
your original.
this is not a hack or a cheat. it just simply makes gravity a var just like changing the color of water

hope you have as much fun with this as i do ... =D

update: here is the Physics.cpp file i think this is all you need to get it to work.

what's with the TXC then, if all it does is affect gravity? Why not name it "Map gravity mod"?

i named it Txc Edition becuase i may add more then just the gravity mod into it later on.
and Txc is the name of the clan im in... lol

Meh, you could work in a little fly hack too, 1/50 would not download

Also, if you released the source, people with ANY os could compile and use, this meaning unix, mac, windows (every windows os) (since all you did was add a server var, you didn't really modify anything huge it will work with all windows that can currently run sauerbraten)

I disagree with that, as this mod seems pretty cool to me ^^. I especially like the fact it only works in coop-edit, which makes it a pretty "peaceful" hack.
I really would enjoy seeing more things like this.

I'll rate 8/10 because:
- The packaging isn't great, somehow you've added 2 off-topic pictures to your zip-file.
- Does the command really have to be upper-cased? I doubt that.
- The ragdolls keep floating in the air and not being affected what ever value you give to GRAVITY.

Apart from that, lovely mod.

Can you provide the sources? I'm on linux.

It's only for coop edit? Or do you want it can be used in all modes? I think you changed the constant GRAVITY in a variable, but it's better if you rename it in gravity. It's not difficult

hey i looked at the zip i sent and i guess my stupid bros put that in there without me knowing about it sorry ill try to update.

and as of right now the command does have to be uppercase. i tried to change that in the source but it seams they refer back to gravity many times later on in the script so it throws alot of errors... im sure this is a easy fix but i didnt get the time to change it yet.

yea i cant figure out why the ragdolls continue to do that ive tried to fix but im not very good at c++ yet.

and yea ill give you the physics file so other users can compile it. btw if anyone using mac could compile this and upload that would be great i got some freinds that use mac...

oh btw you can only change the gravity in edit mode and when you change the gravity it applies to all players in the map useing this mod and if you save the map with say 0.5 gravity if you play instagib on it later it will load it with 0.5 gravity. hope it answered your question.. =)

Nothing will happen. physics.cpp is not included in server so you can only change the gravity on the clients that have this mod.

If you want to make it lower-cased, there are some command (on linux) to do this:

cd sauerbraten/src sed 's/GRAVITY/gravity/g' engine/physics.cpp > engine/physics.cpp sed 's/GRAVITY/gravity/g' engine/ragdoll.h > engine/ragdoll.h sed 's/GRAVITY/gravity/g' engine/rendermodel.cpp > engine/rendermodel.cpp

then you have only to compile. Simple.

yea i know that it only works on clients with this mod ='( .... i may be able to make it a server setting later on.

and i did not know that command worked like that ill have to keep that in mind =)

Yet the person who made the Freezetag mod, managed that people are able to make their own server for it.
