I made this map while having another in mind,
sunspire from unreal that is.

This map is a architectual statement rather
than a deathmatch map, and I hope people will
enjoy playing on it, or reverseengineering it..

A very vertical and blue map. Some beautiful places there. Although you use only a few textures, I think they fit nicely to the map.

I only think it has too many health boosts. I would suggest putting only two, or moving the third one to the top of building.

This map really slows down my game ... I guess it's the amount of waterfalls :)
I somehow found there's a break between at least two levels of this tower ... where you can only go from the higher to the lower, ... is this wanted?!

Also : technical critique :
please read the guide on publishing I wrote,
you used "RAR" instead of zip ... and less critical but nevertheless : you picked a name with capital letters ... I suggest using lowercase only.

I agree about capital letters. Don't use them, because some Operating Systems are case-sensitive.

I would also say to rename Readme.txt to spire.txt.

MeatROme: have you tried to swim up inside water? What level you could not go up?

I didnt know anything about -not- posting stuff with capital letters heh... but its too bad that the water slows your box, the whole point with the water is using it as an elevator, or stairs.

Also, try change the way you render water, the problem might be something about reflection/refraction. The map was made in the water edition of sauerbraten, but try to use one version older edition.

Im also thinking about changing the map into a singleplayer map, and then ill cut down on the water, and use another trick.

The water looks good for me. Ok, vertical water does not have reflections/refractions here. I use the water_edition release, I guess he was using CVS version.

I think the water fits nicely into this map. It is something like a "fountain" at top, then it falls at 4 sides of this building. I'm not sure if removing water would make this map as cool as it is. (but maybe keep one water-version and another non-water-version?)

I was using the water edition,
it's just my gfx card that is a bit on the weak side ... all I wanted to say is that it's a bit of a strain on weak machines ... nothing more ;)
Actually I only took a few moments to review the map and when I had worked my way up to the point where no more stairs lead up I started using edit-view ... so I never thought of "swimming up the waterfall"... in the end this is another of the maps I (personaly) find waaaay-to-small - there's no space to manouver.
But it's a remake on the one side and "architecture statement" (whatever that means) on the other side, so I didn't want to "flog a dead horse" needlessly :-P

This map is very nice.

i wasn't really able to swim up your waterfalls, but they look great nevertheless...

it might not be the best map to DM on, but i just like the design anyhow.

plus, since there is no fall damage in Sauer, i like being able to leap out of the windows.

4/5 stars - keep it up!!
