We should keep it, but give it more easy access for the noobs by putting it in the options GUI so at least the noobs who use the GUI and all newcomers who suck at the game will quit whining while the real pros (the ones with maxroll) will continue to play.

Actually, keep it enabled by default, it makes the game better, and makes the other people better and more skilled. <censored; you don't want trouble do you?>

If you would have read the first comment on this topic, you would have known. It's not like the title of the node isn't saying that.

You said that the maxroll command has been deleted... but you haven't said whether that means that strafe roll is stuck on or off.

Typically in coding with sauerbraten, if something like a command such as maxroll is removed, the whole feature is removed. But only newpussies play with it off, I hate the thought of older players that I thought were good aren't.

Oh, and for whoever censored my other post, like as if it will matter if I get in trouble, its not like I haven't before, and with how this place is run, I likely will again. Don't try to run this place as a SFW place when its full of NSFW people.

I've never liked maxroll, it's like the character is drunk when he plays. Can you really judge someone's skill based on whether or not they play with a wobbly camera?

the reason people disabled it in the past is because they don't have the ability to predict where their crosshair will move to as they are strafing... so in effect the skill level of people will drop, because everyone will be on the same level as the people who can't play with the feature. Because it takes a bit more thinking to actually predict what is going to happen when you shoot, there is more skill with it enabled.

As the name implies, it's screen bobbing, not crosshair bobbing. Your crosshair doesn't go to odd places when you strafe, it will always go up, down, left or right, wherever you point it towards as if the screen was never bobbed.

So there's no actual skill difference other than the fact that it makes the game seem a bit more than just looking and shooting.

It gives the effect that the crosshair is bobbing when the screen tilts. If people find that disorientating as if it is some kind of handicap... well, i don't know what to say without being rude lol.

I've been playing justice-edition with maxroll disabled for the past hour, it's takes what, a few minutes to adjust to it, but the game feels like it has less life in it.

Next up, someone will suggest that player models be replaced by 2D rectangles because they find the player leg animations "disorientates" them. While they are at it, they could suggest to get rid of textures and lighting because it serves as a distraction to the gameplay.

PS My ears got eaten by a crocodile, can you remove the music and sound effects as i have no use for them seeing as i cannot hear them, don't mind everyone else, just delete them. =P

the crosshair is not moving, the view camera is simply tilting around the centerpoint of your screen, aka, your crosshair.

That's just 1 of meanings of this content, bringing back some "life" which is being soaked out of Sauerbraten while playing. As I stated before, without maxroll it feels like you're wearing a jetpack on low-batteries. It feels very boring.

About the skill-part, if you've played long enough with maxroll on and whatever you've set it (except 0), you can predict how much the camera will roll. So it's just a matter of investing some more time in actually playing the game, then whining to Eihrul if he can delete it. It can even be used as an advantage against setting it off.
