Blurb A remake of the map Skycastle

Detailed description

To install:
Move the .ogz and .cfg file into the base folder.

Move the subz folder into the sounds folder.

skycastle Was originally made by Okicomputer.

Skycastle was altered and then renamed to rcastle.

rcastle was finished by Sub-Zero.

There have been some major changes, and name changes, This re-mod of skycastle is rcastle (royal castle).

This map was made to be an artistic map and nothing more. However the added work on it was to add beauty without sacrificing gameplay, quite unlike skycastle-r, though it also is an artistic map, but sacrifices gameplay for eyecandy. What this means is rcastle can be played on (though it is still not a suitable map to do so), all the while it is suppose to look good.

I have not added any pickups. The teleport models are currently respawn points (I assume I will have to update it because of future releases where they may seperate it from the single player aspect and make it fully multiplayer.

You should be able to access the entire map without pickups to "trickjump" you to places.

Nice to see some work on this. Although i really don't like this atmosphere on the map. It feels.. wrong, and is quite depressing.

Answer me this though: Is it my idea, or is the water on the left side of that fountain seriously messed up? And the water on the right side seems to be chopped off with a pair of scissors or something?

IMO, skycastle was never suited to be gameplay based. It's a great map to look at, but let's get real. This map does not fit sauer for playing on. Perhaps it would have more success with Red Eclipse given all the wall running. Trying to make this map fit for sauerbraten's gameplay is pretty much a waste of time, so go on and make it pretty. :P

oh, i know its a waste of time to mod for sauer, however after hours of looking at the map i figured it would at least make a slightly nice map to play on if you got enough people and it was on something like instagib. it is still playable, just not as great as other maps.

as far as the water goes. i tried my best in some areas to beatify it so it wouldn't look so blockish, i really didn't feel like replacing it all with a texture to smooth it down. to be honest, i kinda left the water alone as much as i could because it was very frustrating.

as far as how the map feels, its an "eh" theme. i really didn't make it to have a full on theme. this map can be used for redeclipse if someone converts the map file (i can do it, but i am too lazy plus i have to go to work) but if the map is converted, that means changing the jumppads and the teleports because RE does not like putting teleports where sauer tells it to.
