Nice map, congratulations!
I don't know the original as I'm rather new to 3D gaming, even being an "old guy" (I'm 34) though I must say this map is well balanced, lively and well textured. Also the ammonitions refills are well placed. I see you've corrected that lighting bug on the ceiling: good job! :)

Possible improvements:

• I'd change the ceiling texture with a less "default-looking" one, similar to the grey bricks used on the walls, perhaps with a different colour.
• The green armour on the main room could be moved under the stairs, replacing the grenades: this way would be less obvious to reach.

Oh, and many thanks for placing my name on the credits: I don't deserve so much for just giving you few advices, really! :)

I believe this to be one of the best maps that I've seen not in the 'comes with' pack. Although this is a remake off of another game, it still comes out very simular to the original.

If you wanted to... you could change:

• Using textures actually from the map, for a more mimic of it. (I don't know the rules to using other games' materials and am not forceing you to do this so please don't blame me.)
• Slight modifications of the view of the sky when you look up to be more open so its less noticeable if u fire up there that the bullets suddenly stop. (I'm unsure how it actually goes in the real map. This is not going to be often noticeable but when people experiment around, it would be more noticeable when people do.

For an overall score, I would give you a 8.5/10.

I have to agree with DorkyDear

I did not understand at first why this map is so heavy (1.7 meg) compared to its size, but after taking a seccond look, i now understand why, when you make a level, don't use sky textures, but just knock the unwanted cubes away, replace them with sky (ie nothing) itself.

Use clip if nessecary, you use it on your map, and you can also use it on the skylights to prevent people getting out.

And yes replace the standard textures on the ceilings with something more fitting with the theme of the map.

But all in all, a nice reproduction of classic. So 4 stars.

regardless - THIS IS COOL!

looks perfect for 1 on 1 frag fests!

the only thing i can really say to improve this map might be to put in some light textures so it makes sense why your map is lit up. the areas are all glowing pretty cool with nice colors, but there are no light textures anywhere to make sense of where the light is actually coming from and why it's there.

(You could use noclipped floor and red coloured water add it...)
It's a bit weird for me to fall into the sky and die instantly.

The original 'bad place' is a classic. You brought its fun to Sauerbraten. :)
