The killcam really makes the gameplay feel more intense and back to some kind of "arena-style" again (and shows of the animations of the playermodels
very well).
The "fragged-by" popup is damn great either.
The flag-icons could be a little more detailed, as they are still pretty pixelated, but they do their job. There is a little bug though, as when you connect to a server just in the middle of a game, everyone seems to have the flag (except you).

This definitely should be in the next release.

Very true, but they have the purpose to appear on the radar, which is way smaller, that's why it looks more pixelated now :P.

I can't run this here... but how does the killcam feature work? Is it similar to the one in the call of duty games?

I am going to guess it involves using the demo recording feature, and then somewhat plays back to last X amount of seconds when you get fragged?

umm no .. the kill cam is quite simple after u die ... camera1 (the camera that is attach to player1 (you)) is moved toward the player that killed you ... when it arrives it stops there, the scoreboard appears, and then focuses on the player that killed you (with out changing pos) until you respawn.

yes the error is basically that the server does not tell me who has the flags .. just were the flags are -.- so basically as soon as a person dies then they dont have the flag ... ill fix it :0

also ill fix it so that u can turn off the kill cam by using the command killcam 0 ;P

Some ideas for the next update:

- An extension on the "fragged by" popup, so you can also see which player fragged an other player.

- A "score-cam" of the person who made the last score which ends the game (as 10 points has been reached or all bases has been captured).

- Putting back the original "thirdperson 2" feature, next to the killcam (putting thirdperson on 2 just keeps zooming you out).

ok 2 and 3 ... some questions

score cam ?? what exactly ... just move your camera to were the person that scored is and look at him ?? (at the end of the game or like a top down view on the flag or what ??

i dont recall what the thirdperson 2 feature was ... could you describe it better ;p

ps: if you have not tried spec mode ... spec a ffa or a ctf game, its pretty sweet looking when people die ;p make sure rag dolls are on tho

thirdperson 2 causes the infinate space error -.- something like when you have kickback on and you tell the server that you shot from your opposition feet to there head (aka cheating).. more or less you get sent to -infinate space which is interesting, cuz you are close enough to shoot people but u cant be shot at *.*

score-cam, just like the kill-cam, the camera would be moved to the player who made the last score, that's all. A top down view of the flag isn't a bad idea either.

You still can be shot when using thirdperson 2, as the boundingbox is still appearing at the playermodel. Despite this, you made yourself another cheating device. Why? Because you could overview certain maps in just a split second, while still being in the same view angle when setting thirdperson 2 off (even this can only be done when a map has a boundary of clip-material or just geometry, as it will stop and stay fixed when "hitting" it).
Please fix this.

Not to sound like some whining fanboy, but every bloody time someone using windows takes part of an opensource project and improves it or mods it... they almost never release the improvements as source. Op's additions to the hud/killcam and whatever looks pretty impressive, although its useless to anyone not on windows.

Cross platform game, that even supports BSD!!! Ends up with mods which only exist in winbin.
Whatever happened to good faith and releasing the source.

And no this is not a plug for R+R. i have v2.0 completely done, i decided not release because i joined the R+R team, not the other way around.

R+R is not a cube game (it will have a completely different play [unlike RE], and will be rewriting most of the game components of cube game structure, also new additions to the engine will be added). As you can see already we have change almost every part of the hud system. Also we have not tried to advertise it to the Cube community (and do not intend to).
