Blurb View, edit, and execute your scripts in-game.

Detailed description

With this script you can view all of you cfg files in an inputted directory in-game. With the GUI (bound to key "K" by default), you can view, edit and run your scripts easily and conveniently. Pretty simple, but I find it useful and I hope you will as well. Also, you can type /editcfg to avoid having to search for a particular file; so, for example, if you had a folder called folder1 in the sauerbraten folder and, within folder1, you had a file called scripts.cfg, you could type /editcfg folder1/scripts.cfg to quickly show the GUI and open scripts.cfg for viewing/editing. Please give feedback and report any issues you may encounter.

This is awesome but Im not a big cube gui fan so ill stick to notepad and notpad ++ ;p

What is "=s" and "indexof" ???

I dont understand what do "createine" !

Have you some informations/documentation about commands for the editor ?
For example, do you know how past a var at the start or the end of the editor ???

- (=s A B) is equivalent to (strcmp A B)
- (indexof [list] [element]) returns the index of the given element in the given list, and -1 if the element does not appear in the list.
- 'createine' (i.e., "create if not existing") defines a variable if it is not defined, so you can set default values for various variables.
- Could you expand on your last question?

Oh, ty (the form "$xx = $yy" is interesting !)

Now I'm looking for a way to save user settings in a configuration file (to manage different profiles directly ingame).
So I would like to know how to interact with the editor so that it add lines directly with a script.
I think you understand what I want to do ;-) and I need help...

For example, I do not understand how the functions "textcopy" and "textpaste" where is the clipboard buffer ???
Can we do things like : "textcopy $myvar" or "textpast $myvar" or something like that ?????
What do the "textfocus" and its arguments ??? Has it other arguments ???
What do the two arguments "textinit" ? "guieditor" has it other arguments ???

I have so many questions that I can not find an answer...

My personal recommendation is not to even attempt at using the editor commands. Also, the $myvar questions are all no.

Found a minor bug. Every time I try to load a "cube-art" ".cfg", it fails to show the "imgdata = [ ...(really long list of pixel information)... ]".
I imagine the line is just way too long to be displayed, but it's a bug nonetheless.

Why it's under ZLib license ???
Now, it would be good to create a "browser_lib" !!! I was going to do it but if you're interested, do not hesitate ;-)
I have already thought and there are ways to get only the folder list (for example).
I have not had time to create icons for this (cfg files, png, jpg, tga, folders, ..., ..., ...), but it will come !
I will also try to create icons to make a calculator (just for fun)

Turns out I was wrong... the bug is a little worse than I thought it was. Not only is "imgdata" missing... but everything after it is missing too. :/

The only script of mine really worth posting at the moment is my Cube-Art script(which is in need of an update). Otherwise, I mostly have short wrapper functions that might get packaged together at some point in the future. Recently I've been trying to get used to making cubescripted gui menus.

I've tried out this script and I thought it was awesome, but after I closed Sauerbraten... CRASH! The console didn't want to close and was spamming lots of error messages! I used task manager to shout down it, but when I run Sauerbraten again, there were lots of bugs and the program was still crashing when I tried to load a map or exit.

To solve that crashing I had to unistall, cleen the registry and install again Cube2

I hope it's a bug of the program itself and not a mistake in your script, or maybe it's only because I'm not using the SVN version of Sauerbraten?

Your crashes are irrelevant to the script. Plus sauerbraten doesn't rely on registry keys to run, which is a plus since it makes it completely portable and senseless to install/uninstall due to the fact that anything it runs starts through the game's config.
