Those are far fewer, so when i have the time i'll make them and include the extra texture maps in an attachment with a new config, just for having the choice between default and "enhanced". I'll have to setup some tools that should be pretty dusty by now.. i hope i haven't forgotten my ways. =P

By the way, i'm working on the Techno Soc package, and you all know which one that is. But you'll see it later this week because i have other things i want to make. If you can't wait, i'll fix up a medieval texture pack for you guys. ^_^

@Zama: Really mature of you. If i notice yet another negative vote of you on nodes of mine because you just can't stop hating, i may make up my mind and help you find the exit sooner than i planned. I'm not kidding, you're pulling the rope far too much, and it will snap sometime.

While I can understand your anger I still want to give you an advice: You should really try to communicate such things in another way. Now it looks like you threaten to ban him because he gave you a low vote.

Yes, and if you decided -at last- to ban people because of unfair voting, well, just let him join the queue. And why only on "nodes of yours"? An unfair vote is an unfair vote, whatever the node.

It's not a ban threat for an unfair vote rather than a warning of what could happen if he keeps trying to make what he started on node 3082 elsewhere. If you've read the whole story, you can understand why such a thing would go too far. He even made a node asking quin to demote me because he was "furious" about me calling him a fool. While i understand it's not a pretty word, it's a very mild one compared to others you would see from a truly "names-calling" person. I calmly explained how the situation is against him because he has practically nothing to back him and from there the issue stopped. He deleted his own node 10 minutes after that.

I appreciate that he has calmed down, and if he keeps quiet for a few days and tries to think things through without going through the same hoops like before, i'll restore his status and welcome him back.

As I said, for you the situation might be clear, knowing the background and all, but for an average user (not knowing the backgroound), your comment looks like you can't stand a negative voting on your node. Thus my advice: Step back 2 steps, look at it from the outside and spend a minute more on the wording so that a user only reading this node here doesn't get strange impressions.

Sorry Jorge, you can't have everyone full and the cake intact. I could make a link but then again that's the best i can do. I don't intent to quote the background of the story each time so some random guy connecting doesn't get the wrong impression about me.

BTW I noticed that you wrote a very interesting sentence like "you are trying to play the all-knowing and always-right person"; well, for sure he's not the only one here, just be sure you are not going to take action only when the matter concerns you directly.
Coming back to node: I really like those egyptian tex, and I am about to make my own bump/normal/spec maps, should I save my files inside my custom folders I suppose? What if everyone do the same? We will have one common texture set and 10 bump/normal/spec sets? I think we should make a common rule.

Do not worry, if i am to take action, i plan to do so when there is actual need to do so. If taking action was always interpreted as score settling then i doubt we'd still have any admins left. That being said, his behavior was unacceptable, though i don't intend to ban him. Not without doing something of greater severity (or at least his "scratching of old wounds").

Getting angry at me for refusing to make the extra textures for content which was supposed to be stock and lowering the vote because of that does not exactly qualify as a case of spite towards him rather than the need to show him where he is wrong. If he cannot understand, then there is not much i can do to resolve things peacefully. :/

Now regarding the textures. You can make your own versions, zip them up and upload them on mediafire and provide me with a link. I'll add it to the node with your name as an addition. Just make sure they all work like they should and if possible, use shared textures where applicable to save space. A suggestion to reduce the size would be to save as .jpg with 98-99% quality. That will shave nearly half the size with some files without any noticeable quality alterations.

I found out you forgot to include another texture "rock_brown2vine". It is included in this link.

The rock_2vine textures are left out intentionally because the vine looks like fake. Perhaps Quake's shaders do a better job with textures but in sauer they look like plastic.

Also, now uploading your pack, 5,5MB package, with 3 textures deleted because they're shared.

True, the other vine texture looks like that, but that's why I didn't included that one (just like you did).

The top left corner is a pretty good example of what i mean. The point is, the vine is a different texture, and should be treated as one so it looks realistic. When blended onto the rock, it's gonna be calculated as part of the rock and look like a mural.

Oh, if you mean that part of the picture, that's just because I've putted the specularity a bit too high. That can be easily adjusted. So no reason to exclude the texture.

Not sure about it, but have you tried using the vine texture as a decal to the rock surface? At Simon's site you'll find the original package where you can get the tga. It may look better as a decal. Or it may not apply to what i'm thinking at all.

Nope, haven't used anything at all. The texture was just like it is now, inside that original package of Simon.
