That does not mean that you packaged it correctly. Users are supposed to read the Packaging Guide before posting.

Your package must have correct folder structure with the correct files in said folders.

Look, correct packaging is necessary for being able to instal your map quickly. It's a service you should give other people on quadropolis, like they do to you.
Its "sauerbraten/packages/base", not "package"!

Seriously though, although it is only "a little bit different" from the packaging guide this is enough that it is going to cause problems. Firstly, everyone here is held to the same standard of packaging, when you deviate from that and do not care to fix it, you are unlikely to get any constructive criticism and/or help in the future. Secondly, your entire node can and probably will end up being deleted from your refusal to fix something so simple. Lastly, if you want people to actually look at the map, and give you feedback, the packaging must be correct. There are so many maps that people do not want to, and shouldn't have to frankly, spend time manually installing the files to the correct folder. The best thing to do in this case is to just package it correctly. You were given a link to the packaging guide as well as a list of why it was wrong. Make your experience here on Quad a good one for everyone involved.

Rather than arguing in an effort to keep it the way you've done it, just repackage the thing. It's a site standard, and almost ever package on quad is in that format. ( with the exception of the improper ones. Go figure. )

The idea of such a packaging scheme is so one can simply extract the package into the /Sauerbraten directories and have all the sub directories merge. There is no need for manually tossing files around, and it REALLY simplifies things when people have several folders of textures and models that need to be in the correct place to work.

My critique is not based whether this is your "first ever map released" or not, and does not have anything to do with your choice of clearing it. I'm stating my opinion, and it's, from there on, pretty much your business what to do with it.

I don't mean to discourage you at a larger scale (as most people don't handle criticism of something they like easily, resulting, usually, in rage, ignorance or quitting altogether), but a certain level of quality is preferred, in most cases.

Just next time you plan to release something, make sure you believe it's adequate first. :)

I think what you probably need to do a thorough job of a map before releasing it. Not just rush through all the details, I'm afraid Raz is right, it looks like you just slapped a bunch of textures on to a map.

That´s not true ! there are quite some mappers , whose first map is really good. For example "Lab" , which got starred content ;)

You haven't mentioned half the community on quadropolis helped you with the map, by giving suggestions, testing, etc...

I remember your map at first time posting as a map wich had some odd lights, geometry and gameplay, wich some lacking flow in it...
