Question about Red Eclipse player models.

Hey guys.

I downloaded Red Eclipse and I love it.

I have just one question though.
In ffa modes, the player color is green. It's not really to my taste. Is there any way to change it to let's say... white?

I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance :D

Well if there is a special unique skin for neutral player models(which there probably is), you should have no problem modifying the skins. I hope that this helps, perhaps a skin selection could be a menu. Good Luck!

maybe im going out on a limb:

maybe one could implement a halo like color system for pmodels. Say maybe 8 or 9 different colors and an ability to add a custom decal (like halo 2, 3, etc).

RE has more texcommands than Cube 2, so just making a few skins (or even just one!) and then using, say, the colorify texcommand should do it.

Yes, that would be a neat idea.

The skins should be viewable to all the players, not just the person who selects the skin.

If RE's models are anything like Sauerbraten, then just do what the "Pros" do; colour over the skin images. They claim this allows them to see the enemy better.
I didnt know they were so old they couldn't see them normally ;)

It is already possible to make the player models glow ridiculously bright, so I don't think having different options for player colors would be too much of an issue.

Modify the skins, yea... Greyscale it or make yellow/orange could be an example. Since Cube 2 allows it, I don't count it as cheating (heh, /fullbrightmodels 200 :D)

I don't really wanna make fullbright skins. I just wanna recolor the neutral skin to white or grey so the player doesn't look like an alien or something.

The player model skins in RE are already greyscale, we use a white skin and model material colours to make a single skin into many. In the future I may be applying this on a greater scale to allow more customization, but for the moment I'm just trying to get the defaults right.

I'm not sure what you mean. We've had custom colors since Supernova (version 1.1) came out last summer. If you look at the dates on the posts, they're from over a year ago...

But separate primary/secondary color options would be cool. Personally, I don't like the idea of being mostly white in ffa modes, and being able to change that without editing files would be nice.
