People would be spectating, most likely. If one player is cheating, it's generally not terribly hard to tell by watching through his or her eyes, depending on how they might be cheating.

Its probably best to have one persons (per match) that is in-charge. Mostly to solve any arguments about cheating, or other bad behavior, some one that has the final say on such matters.

Another idea is to have the contestants download a moded version of cube (only the exe file), which would have a hash that the server would know whether you are runing a private version or this specific version. This stop users from giving themselves enhancements that may help them. This mod would be only the size of the current exe and could be placed in the sauer folder with out over riding any files. This would completely stop any cheating.

you'd better find some hash that isn't reliant on filesize only then. its only too easy to attach garbage on the client so the hash ends up the same.

this is usually fairly easy to spot, unless someone has it set up to use a percentage of hit/miss... i wouldnt worry about it. could also use a PSL-type client/server

Also. Aimbotting is generally not that hard to detect.
