Anyway, its intentional. I wouldn't like to mix high quality crosshairs with those low-life 2 bit parodies. I will be later including a crosshair configuration GUI (as i stated in my node, read next time) which will allow control over the crosshairs, including color, size, type and anything else i find in a simple matter. Now stop complaining. >_>

its maybe consider slightly arrogant to consider your crosshairs higher quality. 256 x 256 is a lil overkill as it go for res. It wasting more space than it is worth. The only reason you would need such large crosshairs is if you have you cross hair set at a 30 or higher. The 32x32 maybe small if you reach the 20+ range but 8x the originals size is a lil overkill. This ranks with the same size as a size 6 texture (universal delta 6 [0...12]). Point being that the crosshairs are much larger than they need be. At the most they should only be 64 or maybe 128 (only if you like using the 50 crosshair size). These crosshairs take up far more space then they should.

nowadays, from what ive seen, people dont worry about a few more kilobytes.. for drives are rather large these days. quit complaining, and you might actually make some friends.

It is not arrogant, it is just a very obvious fact.

The crosshairsize isn't measured in pixels as it seems, since using a size of 50 produced a crosshair of about 80 pixels on my 1440x900 screen. Size DOES matter when it comes to crosshairs after all.

And at least i was sane enough to create these crosshairs in a resolution by the power of 2, unlike many others who make them over 300 pixels big. Not to mention that i did the best png compression i could, which frankly, has worked miracles on countless crosshairs made and "compressed" by other authors, dropping their size to a mere half, if not less, without losing any quality at all, so stop nagging. ;)

raz, please tell me you are not actually being stupid enough to want over sized crosshairs (skiing, people like me who do more than gaming on out computers like to save as much room as possible, otherwise we might as well change the .ogg files for music and sounds to mp3's) IMO its best to have as small of a crosshair as possible, otherwise you have this piece of junk that takes over the screen, and then you have to set the crosshairsize real low, like say 1-3. which in the end makes all the crosshairs look the same pretty much, so stop being so worried about how it looks, and worry about its function.

my own custom crosshair is of "poor quality" however since i have my crosshairsize at 7, and the crosshair is made of 64X64 PX, it works fine, doesn't take up much room, and it looks almost the same/just as crappy as the other retarded 256 PX crosshair. so again i say this (not only to you skiing and/or raz) WE WORRY ABOUT FUNCTION, NOT EYE CANDY!

As far as i'm concerned, they "function" pretty well. Otherwise i wouldn't have included them at all in this pack.
I like uploading my crosshairs at the size they were created, its something similar to the source code of a program. How you customize that "program" is your choice, and i don't really care about it.

Whatever crosshairs you choose, designed for the best of visibility or with a decent "eye candy" is your choice, and i have no saying over the matter, but then again, if you like the crosshairs but dislike the resolution, then WHAT EXACTLY is stopping you from resizing them to a smaller size, if that is something of such importance to you, and you instead go on ranting about how i must be stupid for doing this in the first place.

From the point you're making here, it seems that its mostly yourself that is concerned "ABOUT FUNCTION, NOT EYE CANDY!". If you make such a big deal over how big a crosshair is, then you might as well reduce your crosshair to a resolution of 16^2 since you won't be able to see anything of it in such a low size. If you don't like these crosshairs, DO NOT download them then. Stop being a one-post hater about something you wouldn't even try, because that only makes you look like the idiot, and not me.

I hope you try and reconsider, and view for yourself the pretty obvious holes in logic which are located within your thinking. If not, i might just ignore further comments like this one.

If you're interested in the "sourciness", then why not just make an SVG? :P

Because i don't see the reason why i should, since you get a pretty good image as it is, and its also ready for use without converting. It's needless to specify the extra time and space i'd have to waste to turn them into a format no one would really want. >_>

And i bet Sub Zero already knows, since he mentioned that he uses a size 7 crosshair. Not that any crosshair with more than 16 pixels of details would show up "unharmed" at this size.

Nobody is FORCING you to use them. If your concerned about size, don't use them. Leave this node be and skip along to the next one.

You need to realize that even if it conflicts with your own high held opinions, it may not conflict with those of others. So if you don't like the node, it does not mean that every member of this site dislikes it aswell. So Stop complaining!

LOL! I use my own custom 512x512 crosshair (blown up version of one found here on quadro) and it's at size 15. And guess what? It's the same size as the provided 32x32 crosshairs! [at size 15] Also, with different resolutions the physical size is still the same (approximately).
So, your argument is now nullified.
