Detailed description

SSC is a little program to configure and run a sauerbraten server.

Features:
-english and german language
-save 6 different server
-simple configure, save, load and run server

Necessary components:
-Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
-Windows Installer 3.1

Informations:
To run a server you must open the port 28785 (UDP) and 28786 (UDP)(standard) in your router!

And now have fun with SSC!

if Awek would post the sourcecode of this program and everything that's needed to build,
i would try to translate it.

So Awek, please post the sources (only if you want to of course).

It wouldn't be a multilingual version, only a version with translations, but well...

Useless. It is so hard to make .bat file or edit init-server.cfg for start server? And why it need installation?

for you it can be useless. But for example the time I played sauerbraten first, I dont understand it...

For the future I will pack XSBS server in the program (if i am allowed), so it´s usefull for more people ;)

SSC not need a installation, only extract the directory.

my question is: why? there's no bloody point in making/using an installer anyways. all you have to do is make a bloody GUI for sauerbraten, tell people where or at least include the server.bat, and make it to where if they are going to run a server, than can do so from sauerbraten. the idea of making a program for this is bloody pointless and a giant waste of your time.

The whole point of this program is to make it easy for schlepps like my friend Damien, who play too many games but don't know what notepad is, has windows 7 that won't let him save to Program Files without Admin rights, and would rather play Borderlands on X-Box than fiddle with commands, this is an easier way to get him into the Sauerbraten community, plus I can set it up so all he needs to do is press a few keys and go.

And hey, this program took EFFORT! Even I was proud of my own programs, even though they were basically a launcher and a calculator that crashed when a number used a decimal place. Anyone can whinge, but to be good enough to actually write a useful program takes a bit of intelligence.

So stop with the Bull and if you cant offer objective criticism, just don't comment!

third, if you had put in any thought into what you were doing your first though would be to use the search tools on quadropolis (including custom google search) and looked for a program that was build oh so much smarter: http://quadropolis.us/node/1053

But I dont understand why all people crying how useless the program is. You dont must use it ;)
For a few of people it can be usefull. For example to load different servers fast and without copying and pasting server-inits.

So you can stop telling me how bad are my program is. Dont use it and feel lucky! :D

and you don't have yo post your noobish crap on quad, that's what mediafire is for. again, you need to read what i posted because it is simple, this is crap, it does what the program i posted does, you spend less time, and you don't get yelled at because now, and yes i know this is surprising, this mod has no further use anyways. so you can just remove it....

I have read your post. But the program you posted is not the same. With my program you have more options. Like the saving from different servers...

Whats the problem with the 2 mb on the server?? I dont understand it. But I can upload the file on mediafire, when you tell me how I can remove the file from the quadropolis server...

i am not going to rag on your stuff anymore... i'm sorry, but the thing is, your friend won't get very far on sauer without learning a few commands, at least the very basic, if you are helping him out with everything and not showing him how to use the commands he is going to end up no where. hell, thats why it took me so long to learn because people did it two ways, not helping me, or just giving it to me.

This site is meant for sharing your creations, you have yours, he has his. If yours is SO much better, then people will use it; there is no need to flame him because he posted something of the same purpose.

Ever seen the twenty or so zoom scripts, or master-mode scripts? They all do the same thing, but they are tailored differently to the likings of each author.

So be calm if there is more than one of something. It is not the end of the world.
