I made a mockup for a gui skin, not sure if i'll actually make it, but i thought i'd share anyway. It doesn't work too well in real life, since the tabs need to be much taller (unless there's a way to change text positioning?) and the background tiles instead of stretching.

feel free to use the icon for anything :P

Looks nice and clean. To change the background tiling and tab dimensions, I THINK they are hard coded and that you'd have to edit the source, but I could be wrong.
I like the simple and clean look.

very nice! this is a definite 10 from me, assuming the svn would be changed accordingly for this theme! (lower position for the tab titles, changed default colors for guitext and the such which are white)

i really like the skin too! the icon looks just like the old one, wich is way much better then the icon thats in now. the orange trim at the sides of the gui is looking nice either.

10/10 for me!

Looking good. Very clean and sharp. Well defined, unlike the current "grungy" menu design.

I know the Sauerbraten logo colour is orange, but the way the orange is used on your GUI makes it look a bit plasticky, almost like it belongs in Sandbox. I think what accentuates this is the white in the center which while using a pixel art style interface would look great, would look a little off with Sauerbraten's blur-o-riffic menus and bordery text.

What I see is what I will rate however. I will give it 9/10, only due to the fact that the edges of the white area could be cleaned up a little, to make it look like it's actually inside the orange.

yeah, it does become pretty blurry. No hope of that getting fixed in svn?

the white is actually intended to be on top of the orange, will try to adjust the shadow a bit though.

Question for Q009:
In Sauerbraten enhaced, you managed to create a single, stretched background on startup instead of a tiled one. Scnd101 also mentioned that he would like to know how you did it. So, how did you get it to happen?

I thought so. What I wanted to know though was where, exactly, is the command that loads the background in a tiled format. I have some decent experience with cubescript, but anything else (C++ and all that jazz) is beyond me as of right now.

what do u need in a bigger res? The screenshot or the screenshot2? i did the logo, what else do you need?

My logo is double the size of the res you need (512x512) so you should be able to make the full logo with it :0

Sorry it was my blemish. I mean it so... I will use the icon not only as icon but also as logo in the game. Instead of the old cube logo. I hope you understand what I mean :D (I am not english) So it´s a lot to small.
But the icon you have changed for me will be also used ;)

Try working with a texture rather than just a solid color. You can use the current png and overlay it with a texture with an alpha so that it does not look so cartoonish :)

i agree with chasester, but overall its really good ^-^ . and just so you guys know i have an upcoming map based on the water temple in "zelda: ocorina of time" just the theme is gonna be kinda the same but not the exact map . ransom (>^^)>
