Yet Another Quake FAIL:
Ok its a so so map couple of things to keep in mind:
The glowing textures, bind you
There is nothing to hide behind, well theres a couple of things but it is very open
Keep in mind that details are everything, you have no details, besides the small curves and the * under all the amo
Lighting is way to bright, not only the textures but the over all lighting, it gives this very cartoon feel which i think only simplifies the map.
Map layout is boarding, if you dont understand what i mean please read here.
Things that i like:
The teles, not the location choices but the way u used particles to deminstrate them.
The positioning of the water
Things like to see changed:
The texturing, i would not try to hang your hat on remaking or reviving a dead map type. QUAKE IS DEAD! I could go into more detail but that would just bore you.
Add objects like boxes, or anything i can hide behind. Im afraid of being stuck in the middle and some guy has a chain gun and i cannot find anything to hide behind so i die, taking cover is ok.
Obiously lighting
Change in the lay out, make it more complex, something that makes your map special.
Set your cfg up correctly, so that you do not use the default textures as your base directory. Use the texturerest function.
change these things, and keep these in mind for any and all maps
