To access the actual game files, open your Sauerbraten folder. Right click(or option click) on the Sauer icon. Release on "show package contents." This will bring up all the game folders.

I know it was a noob question thats what I said.

Install in

library/application support/sauerbraten

You should already have the packages folder, for the data folder you can manually make it and will overwrite (same files only) the one placed in the sauer app, so you does not have to use the "show package contents"; and don't lose data (like crosshair) if you have to reinstall for any reason.
