Hi Jonlime,

I believe your .cfg texture path is wrong. You've got "exec packages/texture/nieb/package.cfg" when it should be .../texture"s"/nieb/...

Also you might want to concider the texture you've used for the flor, as it reflects the skybox, looking sorta weird when you have a wall in front of you and theres parts of the skybox being reflected ;)

Other than that I really like the retexturing. However the old texturing made it appear somewhat "dirtier" this is now very clean. It also no longer really looks like a "metal" city, so you might want to reconcider naming it?

Gameflow's pretty awesome, texturing could be done better, overall appearance is great tho.

I actually used that texture for the floor because i wanted it to reflect, and it wouldnt suprise me if i wrote the cfg wrong, and you are correct i should definately rename it now, and also there are a few strange spots i need to fix

Why dont you use the reflection ent (forgot what it was called again) shouldn't that work better because it then reflects walls and such too or does that only work for glass?

its possible to make an envmap for textures (like that "glass" texture added in trooper edition) but normal envmap entinity doesnt work on textures.

btw, jonlime, it wont load the textures because nieb's textures that are used in justice are in the folder "textures", not "texture" (i know it would work if pasted the folder "texture" into "packages" folder, but very senseless to put something twice into the same folder, while it can work with 1 folder).

but nice looking map on the screenshot, gj!

envmap entities reflect on all geometry and materials that use environment maps. but for a detailed and realistic reflection jon would need a lot of envmaps, cause if you only place 1 central with a big radious, then all envmap reflecting surfaces would reflect geometry that is out of their reach and it would look weird and bad..

huh? how is that possible? binding an envmap to a playermodel for what reason? we don't want the players to look like mirrors. what you suggest would be dynamic reflections, real time mirroring and distorting of environment

what reason :S? to create another bit of realism into cube engine 2 and to be able to see how cool/hot/becautifull/etc your playermodel is :P (i dont care what you say if your standing infront of a mirror looking at yourself).
further, this can effect the gameplay, but in such small way that its actually worthless to start about that.

indeed. as worthless as is having the playermodels reflect the environment like moving fragging mirrors
jon: i'm still trying to upload the pics for your map.. my connection sucks, not even my server can start. every uploader stalls on start, uploads the first file and then freezes completely when its time for the second file..

there were a lot of bugs, razgriz found about 12 of them... i will be reuploading when i get home today, i have actually changed quite a bit of stuff on it.

Why don't you just set lightprecision back to 32, and lighterror back to 8 ? Now these values are at 96/1...hence the 5 MB. By using the default values, the whole package will have 1MB only instead, while it still looks the same.

Other than that, a very nice map !

the textures and help of nieb and argh really made the map lots better! i vote 9/10 for it.

Oh lol, i see. Sorry, didn't look at the filesize before and after. You mentioned that you used Nieb's textures so i assumed you just were loading them from the already existing ones in the sauer textures folder. Other than that, the map looked great when i had a quick look at it, also the clip seemed to work well.

Nvm then ;)
