A good tip for getting nice looking edges is trim. Never have a textured wall come to an end unless the texture is made to do so, Adding trim to door ways and window edges will greatly benefit the look. ( Also add trim on the wall near the floor )

This map looks like it was made in 10mins on an open coop server, then lights were added.
It just needs more... :/

...i rather give you no rating for this, because as a concept map it lacks of detail, and as a game map it is not playable...way too narrow, the ladders don't work correctly, etc. etc.

It's not THAT bad though for a first map (is it your first map ?), i guess mine was worse.

What could be improved:

- the walls are way too bland, just looking boring. Either use a different texture, or add more stuff (but use noclip too, so you don't get stuck when moving near the walls.

- hallways are too narrow to navigate (especially in multiplayer you need space to move in, and to jump.

- the theme itself isn't the best for a playable map imo. What do you think is the reason that there is no "house" map included in sauerbraten ?

Maybe next time try to make at least a village or so, with bases in different houses at least. Or flag it as concept map, but then it should be something really neat to look at.

It indeed seems like the result of a coop session (but i guess it's not possible in 10 min, demonmooseguy :P), which is not necessary bad, but we've seen maps like this too often already, really. ;)

The mapmodels are neatly arranged though.

But even if you worked on it, i see not that much potential with this map, sorry. At least not in multiplayer.

yes it was my first map, yes I agree that lots more work can be done, I just submit for reviews. I appreciate the feedback. I was having some fun with secrets and underground passages and such. I spent about 20 hours on this map so far.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but I feel handicapped with the tools in the in game editor (is there another way to model these maps?)

I suppose if it's built with too many hallways I'll just put the project aside, but as far as accomplishment goes I'm proud of the accuracy.
