Now about the map. I like some ideas from the map and I enjoyed seeing some clever use of particles, but there are a lot of problems with the end product.
*The entire map just feels too small. The arena's size is fine for a 2-4 player game but the platforms in the middle forced me to slow down to avoid falling. The railings on the platforms are also really annoying since they are treated as steps and do not stop the player at all. Players can just jump across these platforms but even for that, the platforms are awkwardly spaced so that one has to slow down in the air or before the jump to land correctly.
*The map did not have any story or history, something all good maps from any game tell through their layout, design, and item placement. This is hard to describe correctly but in the case of egyptian ruins maps such as this, I always enjoy being able to see the original architecture and then see how the centuries have affected it. I got no sense of that from this map and I felt most of the geometry was there just because something needed to go there. If the layout had been perfect, this would not be a big deal but this is not the case here.
*There is some nasty texture stretching on the corners of the arena. This is really noticeable, but it only takes 5 seconds to fix.
*The player starts are placed very poorly, some of them just starting the player in the middle of key paths.
