I said I didn't test the map thoroughly. I fail to see how you're revealing a deep secret of mine; I openly say it. I'm not going to stage a 10+ person game for every map on this site. It's simply not practical, especially if I don't personally rate it 5 stars.
I already said, I base my opinion and rating on the aesthetics and the gameplay I can see when I enter it. Likely if the map doesn't strike me as interesting in my 10 minute playtest, it's not going to reveal anything strong in the long run.
Symmetry is never a problem.. It's the only way you can get true balance in a team-oriented game such as CTF. However, if one side is not outstanding then it's not worth copying over so it's displayed twice. If you want symmetry all the power to you, but as stands this map's symmetry, for me, breaks the illusion of reality within the game.
I'm glad you get a laugh out of my comments.. That's my secondary goal to my comments. I don't see why you're taking personal offense to my comments. You're not the author, noted aid in the design, or mentioned in a readme (there is none). So this doesn't concern you so much as I can see.. You maybe playtested it but that's as far as I can see.
Rather than criticize me for not thoroughly testing it, why not invite me for a game? That would have made more sense.
Erz, if you'd like, whatever nodes you're involved in I won't comment to. I'll instead just leave my vote. But votes alone don't help in the creative process. That's why I comment. Take them for what they are worth. Clearly they're not worth much here so I won't say anything here after this (hopefully). Maybe some are wrong; some may be right. I may be mistaken about the fog, but you cannot completely dismiss my impressions, because they're likely to be constant among many people using the map. I'm pretty confident that I'm right about the symmetrical gameplay though. Even in most symmetrical maps you see there has been some effort made to make it blend better so it doesn't look perfectly mirrored. In Reissen various architecture is different. In face-capture there are distinct colors to each tower. In this I don't get that sort of blending.
Oh, as for one of the changes you made since I last posted: The trim you put on the ground doesn't look that good, especially when it goes into the round towers. It is very obviously unsmooth and jagged in the tower area, and elsewhere it doesn't add anything to the looks of it. Plus they're not noclipped so there is a problem there.

Kretren.
