props:
-interesting concept. Makes me laugh to think about mice running around with machine guns.
-cleverly designed. Every little detail is expertly modeled and the textures are used effectively. I can tell exactly what everything is supposed to be.
-fun to explore, what with the all the pipes and passages in the walls and the bouncing bath mat and stuff
... but I'm afraid that's where my compliments end.
disses:
-waaay too big. This is bad for a couple of reasons: First, it runs like honey through a pinhole for those of us on slower machines. My computer read '3 fps' in some places (and I think it was being generous). Second, deathmatches are no fun when you have cover lots of ground just to find other people. This isn't as much of a problem when there are many players, but I rarely see a server with more than eight or so people on it. Third, it's just slow, man. I know I said this already, but it is important, especially if you want any love from those who have slow computers :)
-bad lighting. The sun is too close; the windowpane casts a big weird looking shadow on the wall. All the other lights seem kind of random. I understand some are used to illuminate points of interest, but others just make no sense whatsoever.
-items are sparsely placed. If you intend to have many players, you're gonna have to feed 'em. Even if you have few players, you don't want to make them spend most of the time looking for items.
some suggestions:
I'm afraid I don't see much potential for this map, but you have some clever ideas that you could use in future maps.
Some things to keep in mind:
-keep it small. Large maps with many areas to explore are better suited for singleplayer campains
-keep it simple. I know I said I liked many of the little details, but only because they're cool to look at. The problem is that those kinds of things eat away at cpu usage (and therefore framrate) and have little impact on how how well a map plays.
One last thing... what's with your description? It sounds like you're trying to sell something...
That's all for now, though I think I might be forgetting something...
