Blurb remake of the original... a land with 2 opposing forts

Detailed description

more changes:
-added more detail in some places
-more texture variety
-deleted beach area (sorry prax, it just didnt fit)
-shortened name from fortassaultv2 to fav2

notes:
1.there is a bar area if you look behind the waterfall (in edit, you will soon find out how to get there without edit) and also a garden (go to where the river ends and under the bit opposite to the waterfall)
2. ammo packs are found behind the stairs, the the fort lookouts, in the bar and on the little bridge, ammo is quite scarce

changes:
-changed skybox to socksky/emerald
-added a "garden" area
-added a slope down to the river
-tried experimenting with korners on the rocky walls, but i dont think it turned out quite right
-added more health pickups
-tried to make more shadows from the pillars
-reduced number of bullet pickups in the lookouts from 2 to 1 and added some rockets

Just out of curiosity, why do you keep uploading entirely new map postings? Do you know that you can just upload your updated map zip file to an existing post?

2. i made fortassaultv2 from scratch, it wasnt really the same map
3. EVERYONE has to update their rating.. someone somewhere probably wont which will mess up the averages
4. it will not be placed back at the top of the map list (does it?)

Ok, that's valid.

That's not been my experience so far. As I've been updating "The Transport" everyone has been updating their ratings as I've been improving it.

No, that is always shown in the order the maps were posted. But I don't think that is as important as the "recent posts" list which is updated each time someone posts a map or comment.

The only problem with this approach is that if everyone were to post their updates this way, jockeying for the top spot on the map list, it would quickly become very cluttered. At the very least you might consider removing the older versions of the map.

Just my two cents.

I think you care too much about getting high scores and recognition than making better your map. Just a thought...

well fortassaultv2 sorta kicks the original ones ass, and deserves the shorter name, it would make it easier for custom maps on cube servers

by the way, i played around with the map, and i can say that gameplay-wise, it is actually quite fun! graphically though, it is lacking, especially in texture variety, but still, it has a fun layout, and is awesome for instagib! ;-)

Its much better than the first one, but still needs more detail. How about adding trenches in front of the walls? And those stairs are hard to climb. I give it a 3 - not because its not good, but because its not as mature as the other maps I've seen.

why does the map need trenches in front of the forts?
what do you mean the stairs are hard to climb, there are LOTS of 1-1 stairs in cube?

how else could i add detail? this is cube BTW, there are limits to mapping

also, if you rated it 3 then someone rated it 1.. and this map isnt crap :'(

1-1 stairs don´t look too good. Plus your stairs are kinda easy to fall off.
How can you add detail? Get creative. Look at other maps and see how they do it. Yes in cube there are limits. But within those, there´s a LOT you can do.
