there are small issues.
1- the setup should be ZIP > packages > base, but you have ZIP > beacon > packages > base. There's the unnecessary "beacon" folder. To correct this, zip the packages folder and rename the packages.zip "beacon.zip".
2- the readme should actually be put in the base folder, not packages. Plus it should, I believe but I may be wrong, be titled "beacon_readme" or something.. But this rule may have changed.
3- Also, I may be wrong again, but are those textures not already available by default in Sauer? Why did you re-release them?
Second thought - You wanted the texture to not have any color. Okay to do this, copy this into your .cfg:
setshaderparam "glowcolor" 0 0 0 (RGB are all set at 0, which makes the picture black/white - no color)
texture 0 mitaman/mm-ceilinglite1.jpg
texture n mitaman/mm-ceilinglite1_normal.jpg
texture s mitaman/mm-ceilinglite1_spec.jpg
texture g mitaman/mm-ceilinglite1.jpg (there is no glowmap file but you can just use the light as its own glowmap)
setshaderparam "glowcolor" 1 1 1 (from this point on, all textures after the black/white light will have their normal colors, as RGB is 1 each)
Of course you need not copy the explanations I put in.
ONTO THE MAP lol:
Cool idea with the particles in the middle, although you only put death at the bottom part. That's no issue.
The patterning on the floor doesn't seem to fit your theme.
The layout is very open and basic, so I can see this as a deathmatch map, kinda like a gladiator ring.. Useful for pair-offs.
Good use of glass. It means you can see people but not necessarily shoot them. You might consider taking it a step further, and in addition to the glass fences you have, make small glass barriers that people can quickly hide behind.
I saw barely any ammo. You should put more in.
You should clip the flooring near the middle, where it dips in and out again. You used that yellow/black 'warning' texture do you'll know why I'm talking about.
Unless you want people able to escape the map, you should really clip the outside too.
Overall the map is really open.. It's actually too open. No matter where you go, you're exposed. I'd say put up at least a few barricades for people to rest behind, if not walls for them to elude each other.
3/5. Btw how's that castle map coming?
