Don't expect much until you fix these problems.

VERY reminiscent of tartech. Had you not said that this was meant to be similar to it, I would enter the map immediately being reminded of it.

Having said that, it is very similar to tartech. The textures and architecture (even those things sticking out of the walls and lamps hanging from the ceiling) all remain constant through the maps. For that reason I mostly see this as a tribute map. If this came before tartech it could stand on its own as a map and be seen entirely original but as it's released after, using many of the same ideas as tartech, it's forever to be associated with it.

5/5 as a tribute map, 4/5 as a standalone map today, 5/5 as a map before tartech came out. I like the layout. It looks fun. Obviously it looks good (I too like tartech :P) and the lighting's all good.

Btw, interesting spot for the quad. I rarely see the thing hidden like it is, but always hard to get to.

Now i have a new favorite map!

ok the map... the map is a great map .. one with great lighting and great, textures, flow and caders to types of gamers... from the campers to snipers... to the solder to the noobs.. basicly all round this a great map...

on a normal basis i dont comment on map like these... the ones of supior quality... rather i cater more on the medium level maps... but today i made an exception...

a few comments... the spawn spots... some of which are not very well placed... you need to think that the more open the spawn area... the more higher it should be... also ... in one spot ... were u go down the ramp ... u put some clip over some metal spikes that stick out of the wall... u also hung the clip over the roof of the building ... this just leave an inconsistancy mainly being that they are cliped so u can get up there but the stuff from the roof hangs over so much that you have no space... so also in an other area of the map were there is a lil cavity that u can garnade jump to you have left of that these spikes again and they are cliped and u can jump on them .. but when u do u can clearly see the roof is cliped because u could easily jump on the roof if it was not .... so my suggestion is as the following ... no clip the spikes and get rid of the hangover... that way it does not appear that you are intensionally cliping the roof top... :) other than those thing i think the map is great and i can not wait to play it on the next release of cube.... or sooner if they ever get a quad server up and running... :)

Hey don't bash a map because it utilizes the same theme as another map. This is good, especially when the gameplay has changed. It goes a long way towards making the game competitive with other fps games which often have a whole series of maps based on the same architecture or themes. I'm not saying creativity with respect to theme isn't important, just that enough time went into designing the themes used in Sauerbraten maps, that it would be a shame not to capitalize on that creativity and expand the Sauerbraten map base.

I don't know how, but I've missed this one. Although I've almost ceased playing instagib on Sauer since the advent of regen-capture mode, I clearly remember Tartech as one of my favorite small maps, and I must say that you've been really accurate in achieving the same feeling, with a further boost: the size, which is perfect for capture (and DM and insta too) So congratulations for your nice tribute and great job! :)

There are some reason why this map is not in the relase?
