Detailed description

ctf_valley is designed to play with 6 to 14 people.

Its made from the idea, to only use textures that has been used on c_valley, but that its got to be a ctf_map, so not a replica of c_valley.
The gameplay is very nice, because there r several (3 commmon and many uncommon ways)ways to get the opponents flag. From first idea u would think its 1 big campmap, but after u played it, then u c u can avoid the campers pretty easy, like as example by using 1 of the undergrounds or the catapult.
Please give it the rate that it deserves it...

this map is very cool, and will create very intense gameplay.
nice lighting, and its cool that you created so many ways to get to the opponents flag. nice job!
i only see one issue... the doorway into the sniping tower is a little small... you bang ur head if you jump in. also, the ladders could get a little congested if you have too many players, but it should be ok with 8 - 12 people... 16 might be a stretch.
overall a great concept... and nicely done.

no problem for the comment... lol, i think it is playable with the small ladder areas, but with large amounts of players it will get cumbersome.

btw, i forgot to mention the catapults... they are mad sick man lol.

You're getting better with your maps, but the map is a bit too symmetrical and uniform. Try mixing it up with a combo of different lighting techniques and simulated destruction to make the map really stand out.

yes i know, i should improve the geometry of the map and i should improve the flagtower a bit (probalby that geometry part would take a while D:).

btw, i actualy started this map, before ceethon, sac and sauerflauer (somewhere in October 2008) :P.

i almost 4got, i decreased the filesize, by taking the lightprecision a bit higher :P.

I haven't tested it yet, but please, don't use that fluo green grass, there's much better looking grasses available in the default texture set. Check in the last few pages of the texture selector.

i actauly used that grass texture, cause i wanted 2 make it still looks a bit like c_valley :P.
i alrady made a better version of ctf_valley, but havent changed that textures (on the better version are the jumppad on the catas more realistic, better geometry and it takes a bit longer to get your opponents flag :P) and havent uploaded yet (need 2 make a new screenshot first for quadro). It will be probably soon on it :D.

Could I recommend changing the catapults so that you enter them from the back, rather than the side?
Right now, you end up on the other side of the map facing away from where you're headed.

Sure Suicizer, here is my opinions, please don't mind about my awful english.
1) the layout is pretty simple, I saw that "2 castles & a moat" layout so many times in coopedit servers, and texturing doesn't looks "just" to me;
2) the whole structure of the forts/bases seems flat and undetailed, it looks a little noobish in my opinion;
3) all those endless stairs are confusing, the central stair (the one inside the base tower) lead straight outside the flag place, I had always to turn back with a jump to get the flag because I always miss to stop on the top;
4) if you want to reach the opposite base via "surface" you have to jump on one of the 3 central pillars, enemy campers can easily transform you in a lots of meat balls while you try to jump on the
other side; I would suggest to put a wide wooden bridge instead of pillars, but that's my taste;
5) the sub galleries are too much straight and narrow, there's no cover at all to enemy campers (call them snipers if you wish ;) )
6) if I am not wrong the spots where you placed healthboost are not reachable unless you use rocketjump, these are useless on insta games.
I think you worked hard on this map, that's why I voted 3/5.

srry but most of the things u comment, doesnt match with the map.
1) layout, thx 4 comment
2) detail, i should make the castles a bit more detailed yes.
3) u will always keep that on stairs and jumppads take the gameplay away a bit and doesnt fit with the theme.
4) take 1 of the 2 undergrounds, or take 1 of the 2 catapults, havent made them 4 nothing :P.
5) what u mean with sub galleries :P?
6) u can reach the healthboosts by jumping from 1 of the towers of the castles (if its 2 hard 4 people please just use 5bullets, 1 shell, 1 rifleround or even 1 shot from the cartridge), or try a rocket or nade jump :P.
