Mmmmh.
If I try this out in my v0.93 I do get the sound output ... but the demo won't play (architecture/cpu warning) .. too bad .. this will make it unusable for anybody that's not on the same architecture as you are .. please state this (and give your specs) in the description to avoid others wondering what they did wrong ;-)

The concept is a very good one though,
maybe you could just video-capture your demos to make it work cross-platform !?!
I'm very impressed with the natural feel the voice has (well the first seconds of rifle-jump I've heard so far) .. could you tell us which prog you used!?!

Regarding the packaging:
It is extremely bad style to replace menus.cfg!!
Please just have config/ing.cfg containing the menu "Newbie" and do some keybind in there and tell people to use that key to get to the menu (or enter "/showmenu Newbie" by hand, of course)!

Not to mention that your installation text is not really helpful .. you wrote "bind Escape: Help, ~>Newbie Guide<~ , choose a tutorial in the list..." .. why do you say "bind Escape" !?!?! I'm betting you wanted to say "press Escape", eh?!
Well, if you use the config/ing.cfg method like I said this would have to be "press F8" (if you use F8) instead of course ... and you'd need an additional point in the list telling people to add the line "exec config/ing.cfg" to their config/autoexec.cfg .. of course :)

Funny thing - I tried it out in CVS too, which (for whatever reason) plays back the sound at ~3/4 the speed .. "proving" your program was drunk when converting text-to-speech. LOL.
