Detailed description

Version 2.0 of the "AC Knife Edit," as I have come to call it. Bloody knife doesn't sound as technical or cool. :B What I've done in this version is made the blood more realistic looking. I've achieved this (I hope so) by making the blood transparent and by adding various splotches and whatnot to it. I've also updated and added the world model, it's not a carbon copy of the hudgu...hudknife, but it's there. Hope you like it! (You can rate it by looking at the screenie, if you really don't want to d/l it and look at it in-game. But then that would defeat the purpose of the whole thing, now wouldn't it?) ; )

Sad to say it, but there is already a bloodied knife skin, i think it came into a license breach, (is that how you spell it?) so the link was taken down. Not really that great to modify a skin slightly, why not make your own model or skin from scratch? That would be excellent to see.

Yeah, that's how you spell it. But wait, does that mean that the other bloodied knife isn't there anymore?

Yeah, that would be cool, although I know not much of the ways of...skinning. Know of any good tutorials on the web? So yeah, I might make my own knife skin. Thx for commenting! Now how about rating it? It's okay if you feel it only deserves a 1/5, but plz just rate it on how it looks, and not on how much time you think I took on it. To the admins: I followed the license correctly, right?

Yes actually, the other bloodied knife isnt there anymore, it was never on Quad. I use it myself actually, but i never publish it.
Thats actually a pretty poor job, you just added a few drops of blood onto it. I could do that in 30 seconds.

1/5, you can do MUCH better. Srsly.

It is a pretty n00bish job, but I'm not really sure how to improve a bloody knife other than to add a few drops of blood.

I know.....how about you tell me how to make it better, and I try? That would be nice. Or, tell me how this sounds. A wooden handled knife with bloodstains stained (lol) on the handle. And more blood on the blade. Eh? How does that sound? ; )

First off, thanks for the correct licence handling :P Only 1 out of 30 people gets it :P

You really need to save the .jpg at a high quality - ac´s skins are high quality jpg´s too!
It won´t make the game run slower or something, just a few extra kb for a lot more quality. So, save them at 90-100% !
Btw, you don´t need to add the hand_skin if it´s not altered.

Blood is in reality not fully oaque. Also, the splats look like they have been made with a 5 pixel brush.. Paint them with a lasso and fill them. Also you can think of layers of older blood.. partially swept off again.. where would it stay longer.. etc etc...
When skinning, it´s always good to think about the history of the object you skin.

Like smeared blood, I'm guessing.
Again, thx for commenting and for your generous 3-star rating! Also....should I try making all the blood more visible? Like closer to the player's viewpoint? 'Cause right now it's kinda hard to see, and that's why I didn't make it to complicated in the beginning. : )

You never, never want to do that! Look closely at the skin, every pixel has it´s function!
Smoothing or blurring is rarely used in skinning.

If you talk aboiut the old bloody knife of val or Tra$h_Pc it wasn't good stuff i think (they do good works but not for that..)
The bloody knife idea was take by 1000000000000 people i think, but that's not a problem because you prooved you can do better bloddy knife than other players... lol Fuckk off :D
